Havana, history between cobblestones / La Habana , historia entre adoquines
Good morning, friends of this beautiful Wednesday Walk community!
First of all, I wish you a wonderful day. Taking advantage of the fact that I accompanied my nephew to make some deliveries yesterday, the last one being very close to Calle de los Oficios in Old Havana, I decided to walk around, take some photos, and join my friend @tattoodjay #wednesdaywalk challenge, which invites us to rediscover the city every Wednesday.

Antes que nada, les deseo un día maravilloso. Aprovechando que ayer acompañé a mi sobrino a hacer unas entregas, y la última fue muy cerca de la Calle de los Oficios en La Habana Vieja, decidí recorrerla, tomar algunas fotos y unirme al reto #wednesdaywalk de mi amigo @tattoodjay, que nos invita a redescubrir la ciudad cada miércoles.
This street is very pretty, cobblestone from beginning to end. I love the texture under my feet. The cobblestone streets in this urban area have little vegetation or shade, so the pots of tall plants and green vines adorning the path are appreciated; a simple but charming detail.
Esta calle es muy bonita, adoquinada de inicio a fin. Me encanta sentir esa textura bajo mis pisadas. Las calles adoquinadas de esta zona tan urbana tienen poca vegetación y sombra, por lo que se agradecen las macetas alineadas con plantas altas y enredaderas verdes que adornan el camino; un detalle sencillo pero encantador.
Walking through Oficios, admiring centuries-old facades, I found myself standing in front of the old Coche Mambí; a presidential carriage frozen in time. With its iron and hardwood structure, it stands between Oficios and Churruca Alley like an urban reliquary, a witness to republican history. I'm saddened to have passed it so many times without being able to enter. I know that one day I'll be able to cross its threshold and discover this important fragment of our history up close.
Caminando por Oficios, contemplando fachadas que guardan siglos, me encontré frente al antiguo Coche Mambí; un vagón presidencial detenido en el tiempo. Con su estructura de hierro y maderas nobles, se alza entre Oficios y el Callejón de Churruca como un relicario urbano, testigo de la historia republicana. Me apena haber pasado tantas veces frente a él sin poder entrar. Sé que algún día podré cruzar su umbral y descubrir de cerca ese fragmento importante de nuestra historia.
Further along the street, I stopped in front of a building that inspires respect from its facade: the former House of Representatives. Its robust classical-style columns support not only the weight of the architecture, but also the history still preserved within its walls. The imposing and solemn entrance door seems to invite one to imagine the debates, speeches, and decisions that once marked the course of the country. Today, although its functions have changed, the building remains a worthy vestige of Cuban institutions.
Más adelante, al seguir el curso de la calle, me detuve ante una edificación que impone respeto desde su fachada; la antigua Cámara de Representantes. Sus columnas robustas, de aire clásico, sostienen no solo el peso de la arquitectura, sino también el de una historia que aún se conserva en sus muros. La gran puerta de entrada, solemne, parece invitar a imaginar debates, discursos y decisiones que alguna vez marcaron el rumbo del país. Hoy, aunque sus funciones han cambiado, el edificio permanece como un vestigio digno de la institucionalidad cubana.
I continued along that same street until I reached Avenida del Puerto, right in front of the pier where the boat travels across the bay, taking travelers to the towns of Regla or Casablanca. A little further on, as if hidden amidst the hustle and bustle and the salty breeze, I discovered a tiny but powerful park. Two bronze statues, one of Agustín Lara, the "Flaco de Oro," and the other of Pedro Vargas, the "Tenor of the Americas," stood as if still singing to the sea. There they stood, eternal and serene, reminding us that music also has a port and a memory.
Seguí por esa misma calle hasta desembocar en la Avenida del Puerto, justo frente al embarcadero donde la lancha transita sobre la bahía, llevando a los viajeros hacia las localidades de Regla o Casablanca. Un poco más adelante, como escondido entre el bullicio y la brisa salina, descubrí un parque diminuto pero cargado de presencia. Dos estatuas de bronce, una de Agustín Lara, el Flaco de Oro, y otra de Pedro Vargas, el Tenor de las Américas, se alzaban como si aún cantaran al mar. Allí estaban, eternos y serenos, recordándonos que la música también tiene puerto y memoria.

Cómo hay autos antiguos en la Habana , eso es una de las cosas que más me gustan porque sus propietarios los mantienen súper bien, son joyas rodantes

Si realmente está calle habla con su historia , el vagón es muy interesante espero poder mostrarles por dentro algún día es un museo hermoso y los autos antiguos andan por la Habana como joyas vivientes , hay muchos muy bonitos
