Something that I really enjoy about the urban relief in Santiago de Cuba is that it was designed to have trees on all the main avenues. Everywhere you look, you will find a tree. But as if that were enough, we also have a lot of parks, and that's where I go when I need to relax.

This park that I show you today is born from a roundabout that serves as a passage for several streets, and that was decorated with a statue and several seats for passers-by. It is located on Manduley Avenue, and is characterized by the large statue that stands there.

This statue is a tribute made by the Cuban press association in 1914 to José María Heredia, an important poet and pedagogue of the country's history.

In addition, the contrast achieved between the surrounding buildings and this small park is very striking. In fact, it is not very popular, because people prefer to move to a multicultural center that is located right after. This is not my case.

Whenever I can I walk here, as I did this Wednesday, and I take the opportunity to observe how urban and natural mix perfectly. It is a combination of smells, colors and sounds that put my soul in a state of peace.

Algo que disfruto mucho del relieve urbano en Santiago de Cuba es que fue pensado para tener árboles en todas las avenidas principales. De ahí que a cualquier lugar que mires, encontrarás un árbol. Pero como si mo fuera suficiente, también tenemos gran cantidad de parques, y allí es donde acudo cuando necesito relajarme.

Este parque que les muestro hoy nace de una rotonda que sirve de paso para varias calles, y que fue ambientada con una estatua y varios asientos para los transeúntes. Se encuentra interesando la Avenida Manduley, y es característico por la gran estatua que allí se erige.

Dicha estatua es un homenaje hecha por la asociación de la prensa de Cuba en 1914 a José María Heredia, importante poeta y pedagogo de la historia del país.

Además, es muy vistoso el contraste que se logra entre los edificios circundantes y este pequeño parque. De hecho, no goza de mucha popularidad, pues las personas prefieren desplazarse hasta un centro multicultural que se encuentra justo después. Este no es mi caso.
