WHEN THE BEACH BAR BURNED DOWN
I didn't expect to see carbonized wood and melted plastic when I went for a walk by the sea in Liznjan's harbor on the 9th of October.
Only a couple of hours later, when I returned home, I found the news on all the local news portals about a fire that started late at night, at 1:20 AM precisely, and was extinguished at 2:45 AM.
The beach bar was a small family business so ... yeah, the fire definitively created one of those sad situations that one can easily relate to.
The tractor parked behind the bar was also significantly damaged.
Five or six meters from the tractor, the heat has melted the back sides of the garbage cans by the side of the road. Their interior was visible through the big holes.
Just like me, the people who live near the harbor were exploring the site of the fire. Fires in urban areas are something that fortunately happens rarely. I don't remember something like this happening in Liznjan. What I wanted to say is that it is quite normal for curious homo sapiens to be interested in a rare, dramatic event of this kind.
Meanwhile, the surrounding nature and the big blue sea looked pretty indifferent. With the burned things out of the frame, it was just another quiet October afternoon.
All three photographs of this seaside tryptich share the same background, a chunk of the bay, and some distant details of the harbor, but the foreground of each shot shows a different kind of coastal plant.
In the picture on the left, you can see the lovely yellow flowers of the golden samphire (Limbarda crithmoides).
The sea fennel or rock samphire, whatever you wanna call it the scientific name is Crithmum maritimum, shows its brown seeds in the middle section of the tryptich.
In the right picture, you can see the reed grass (Phragmites australis).
Here you can see the stylish path that leads along the beach. In the following photograph ...
... the same path leads to the burned remains of the beach bar that went into flames the night before.
Two chairs ended up trapped under a burned beam.
The destruction left many chaotic details on display.
Through the lens of my camera, I was trying to find some kind of composition in all that decomposition.
Here you can see a chair that looks like an injured survivor near the pile of garbage left by the catastrophe.
Big metal objects were in a relatively good shape compared with everything else.
This looks like a burned refrigerator.
Here you can take one last look at the red tractor.
Today, while preparing this post, I revisited the local Internet portals and found the old news about the burning of the beach bar. The exact cause of the fire is unknown. Probably an open fire was left burning in the small kitchen after the closure.
And that's it, as always in these Wednesday Walks on Hive, the photographs are my work.

I hate fires. Years ago, there was a fire here in the south and millions of trees burned because of that fire. It was really bad. It was August and the fire was not going away because of the heat.
Yes, the fire can be very destructive. We had some pretty big ones too in summer.
How are you dear friend @borjan good morning
What a shame to see this entire family business destroyed, and the great impact it will have on its owners. I hope they have the money and strength necessary to start the business again.
The shots you have taken show the great destruction
I appreciate you sharing this Wednesday walk experience.
Thanks for the comment. 🙂 Have a great day.
This is really bad news for those people who ars suffer this accident.

Aw, I felt pity for the owner of the small business. Hope it has insurance so they could claim money to start over again.
The old man looks so sad while staring at the left debris
Always so sad to see any building damaged by fire, the melted rubbish bin shows how intense the heat was for sure
Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk :)
This is really a bad news for those living around there. Pathetic time
God! This is not pleasant! I feel so bad for the family that had to experienced this. I pray that are able to recover from this. From the way the old is starring at the whole incident, it looks at though he is the owner of the affected place.
Se parece a mis contenedores de trabajo las primeras fotos, hay que cuidar el medio ambiente..
Con esto limpiamos nuestra plaza ..

That’s a big loss for the owner of the business
I feel bad when I see losses like this
I hope the person recovers mentally and financially
The agony and the ecstasy ... nature on two sides ... the tranquility of normal operation ... the violence of fire...

This fire's source is not known but it did quite a lot of damage.
But thank God it didn't harm anyone and the water's serenity remains undisturbed.
That's sad. A business closed down due to what happened.
It's speechless. I have no words for their sorrow . Some people make a living by running small businesses. This small business may be for us but for some it is the investment of their whole life and their labor of whole life..! In this picture, its owner can be seen very depressed and sad. 😖😟😔
It's a sad thing to hear about what happened to the business. The owner has spent so much time for the business surely.
All this work is not easy, what man does by tractor takes a lot of hard work and the way we see that the weather in your city has also turned cold and winter has come everywhere.
Sad :(
Hope the family is okay and have insurance. And that insurance actually plays fair if so <3
