Christmas lights just after the entrance

Good morning, amazing people!

We're just a few days away from Christmas and I can feel the magic vibe the season brings! Since it's Christmas season, let me take you on another walk to the Provincial Capitol of La Union in the town of San Fernando. It was the 1st of December when the "Kapitolyo" (Capitol) first lit its Christmas lights, but we were unable to go. We tried to skip the massive crowd so my daughter and I decided to visit a few days later.

As the festive season approaches, the spirit of Christmas fills the air, and one of the places to experience this magic here in our province is at the Provincial Capitol's "Pasko Sa Kapitolyo." This year, I had the pleasure of sharing this enchanting experience with my daughter, and it was nothing short of magical. We are a town away from the capitol, so we hired a trike to take us there. We visited a little early, before tourists flocked, and we were trying to avoid that. To be honest, I love Christmas, but the crowd drives me nuts. Sorry about that. It just gives me anxiety. So anyway, we got there as early as 7 p.m.

From the moment we stepped foot on the Capitol grounds, we were greeted by a dazzling display of Christmas lights and decorations. At the entrance were huge butterfly Christmas lights and since I am a huge fan of butterflies, I took them firsthand before walking up to the main area. As we walked along, the entire place was transformed into a wonderland, with twinkling lights adorning every corner, creating a mesmerizing spectacle that left us in awe. The Capitol building, standing tall and proud, was a sight to behold, bathed in a sea of vibrant colors that reflected the joy and warmth of the season. We stopped at one of the displays just after the entrance. Everywhere was so bright and colorful and I didn't know where to start taking photos.

The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the Christmas performances. We were busy taking photos when we heard one of the emcees say there would be performances that would start in a few minutes. We were unable to capture it due to the crowd, but we had a glance and it was amazing. Artists from various backgrounds came together to put on a show that truly captured the essence of Christmas.

We continued walking and we stopped at the two huge Christmas trees just a few steps from the performance stage. The first one was in a white and yellow theme, and the other one in front of it looks like a castle. A caste Christmas tree. How cool is that? Again, it was crowded, and we were only able to take photos in front of it. You can go inside to have your photos taken but the line was a little long. There were artificial snowmen in front of the castle Christmas tree, so we had to take photos of that as well. Next to it was the Nativity. I think this is one of my favorites. The true essence of Christmas is when Jesus Christ was born.

But what's a festive walk without some delicious food? Pasko Sa Kapitolyo didn't disappoint in this regard either. A wide variety of food stalls were set up, offering an array of mouth-watering snacks. Whether it was the local delicacies that caught our fancy or the classic Christmas treats, there was something for every palate. The food stalls not only served as a pit stop for us to refuel but also gave us a taste of the local cuisine, adding to the overall festive experience. We found Filipino street foods like barbecue, isaw, fish balls, and coolers. My daughter wanted some isaw (chicken intestines on a stick), so I brought home around 10 pieces. We also bought strawberry cakes in a cup, blue lemonade, and colorful cookies. Everything was worth buying—delicious!

The joy and excitement in my daughter's eyes as she walked around, taking pictures and videos, is a memory I will cherish forever. Her laughter and smiles, her wonder and delight at the Christmas spectacle, made the experience all the more special. It was a reminder of the pure, unadulterated joy that Christmas brings, especially to children.

Thank you for walking with me. Have a fantastic day to you all, my friends!

In conclusion, our walk to the Provincial Capitol of La Union for the "Pasko Sa Kapitolyo" was a memorable experience. It was a perfect blend of festive cheer, cultural performances, delicious food, and quality time with my daughter. This government project has indeed unraveled the magic of Christmas in the province, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and enchanting Christmas experience.

This reminds me to visit the capitol at night too before the year ends. It's always on my plan, but I forgot. Salute to the government for the efforts of installing these creative decors, these attractions bring families together this season.
