Happy Hump Day, amazing people!
I was supposed to post this on Christmas day, but since I was sick all day (and am still going for a week now), this will be my post-Christmas entry. I mentioned in my previous post that my daughter and I, together with three of my friends, had a morning coffee at the newest coffee shop in Baguio City, which is the Coffee Project. As a continuation of our adventure, we went straight to Tublay, Benguet, to visit another new tourist attraction within an hour's drive from Baguio.
So let's dive in.
On the 20th of December, which was last Wednesday, as the holiday season approached, my daughter, three of my friends, and I decided to embark on a unique Christmas travel adventure. We set our sights on Beacon Hill, an enchanting eco-park nestled in the heart of Tublay, Benguet. This UK-inspired haven, perched atop a mountain, is a delightful blend of British charm and the natural beauty of Benguet. I actually saw this on my Facebook feed and thought I would give it a visit, so I called my friends to come with me.
It was almost lunchtime when we got there; it was a little sunny and not too cold, and the weather was perfect. It was a little hot for me since I was wearing a thick outfit, but it was bearable. From the moment we stepped onto Beacon Hill, we were transported to a different world. The park is a tribute to all things British, from the iconic red telephone booths and double-decker buses to the Union Jack fluttering in the breeze. Yet, it's not just the British elements that make Beacon Hill special. The park is enveloped by lush pine trees, their scent filling the air and adding to the overall charm of the place.
There is an entrance fee of 150 pesos each for adults and 120 pesos each for kids, which is very reasonable. When we arrived, there were a few tourists, but it wasn't too crowded. Right after we passed the entrance, the camera started to roll. Click, click, click. One of the highlights of our visit was the breathtaking view of the Benguet landscape. As we strolled through the park, we were treated to panoramic vistas of rolling hills and verdant valleys. It was phenomenal, a testament to the untouched beauty of Benguet. Despite the British influences, Beacon Hill is more than just a replica of the UK. It's a place to reconnect with nature, to breathe in the fresh mountain air, and to appreciate the simple beauty of the world around us. The park is a sanctuary—a place where you can escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse yourself in tranquility.
They also have a small coffee shop that is located inside a bus, which I think is pretty cool. They offer coffee, other beverages, and some sandwiches. We didn't have a snack since we just finished our early lunch before we got there but I think the cafe was fantastic. As we walked up the hill, we found the iconic telephone booth replica, the vintage car, and most of their decorations. The Christmas decorations added a festive touch to our visit. The park was adorned with holiday ornaments, creating a magical atmosphere. It was like stepping into a Christmas card, complete with the crisp winter air and the sound of carols in the distance. I am glad I took a bunch of photos.
Our Tublay trip to Beacon Hill was more than just a travel adventure. It was a chance to create lasting memories with my friends that I haven't seen in almost a year and to appreciate the beauty of nature. I am a huge fan of the wild and everything nature, so this was a priceless trip for me. It was a reminder of the magic of the holiday season, of the joy of exploration, and of the importance of spending time with those we hold dear.
Beacon Hill is more than just a destination; it's an experience. It's a place where you can leave your worries behind and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature and the charm of the UK. Whether you're a nature lover, a fan of British culture, or simply looking for a unique travel experience, Beacon Hill is a must-visit. In conclusion, our Christmas adventure at Beacon Hill was nothing short of amazing. It was a journey of discovery, of bonding, and of appreciating the beauty of the world around us. And as we left the park, we carried with us not just souvenirs but memories that will last a lifetime.
Thank you for reading. How was your Christmas adventure, if there's any? Good, I hope. Until our next trip, my friends. Have a great day, y'all.
