A Walk, the Blocks and Coffee by the Sea

Lately, I've been having a sedentary lifestyle. Unlike before, where I used to have a lot trainings in the Rescue where exercise is really a habit. Currently, I'm all just work, where mostly all seated the entire time, then sleep and face my computer at home when I don't have classes.

Even for a simple stretching, I can only do it if I remember. Consequently, my back pains and frozen shoulders seemed to love me more these days, they wouldn't leave me alone anymore. There isn't even a day that I couldn't ask for a massage and the liniments is now ineffective to me. Moreover, my knees are weakened which frequently, it would numb.

I gave some efforts to break the habit. It's why everytime I got a time off from work and school, I'm going here to take a walk at the Old Airport's runway of Bacolod. It's just 3-minute walk from home anyway. Then, I could bask in the salty breeze, have some morning sun while walking and drink a coffee after reaching the end of the place while watching the waves and boats at the distance.

After a few mornings that I've been here, my curiosity just grows more and more as we often passed by those blocks beside the runway. I'm often wondering what are those and why it is left behind there on the shore to be outgrown by bushes and vines. Well, I know for sure that curiosity kills the cat, but anyway, this one means no harm. It won't hurt to take a closer look.

Now, who wouldn't agree that they looked like Minecraft blocks?

Lol. Seeing that the vines outgrown most of it, it looked more like those eerie abandoned ruins on a closer look. I have random horror imaginations upon walking up close on it. If you could imagine also those empty spaces at the cemetery, maybe you could see what I'm seeing here now. Some of the blocks are new and some looking old since the colors are darkened or stained.

There's a path in the middle of the stacks. Walking up in there, it kinda feels like passing by the ruins of an abandoned house somewhere. But of course, they are all just my imaginations, nothing more!

There's none whom I've asked with who knows exactly what are these things, so I've looked it up. I've found out that they are concrete anchor blocks.

Well, even if this place is an old airport, this place is situated beside the sea and everyday, there are fishing boats here. Actually, that's one reason why they built a cafe over here, because people are working and exercising in this place early in the morning, and also some are visiting in the afternoon to see the sunset. It's a good place to unwind. The place is peaceful, not crowded and spacious to do some recreational activities if you wanna go here to bond with your friends and loved ones. Some kids nearby are even coming here to play with their kites.

There are blocks placed beside the gutter, so I went there. I just wanna know how sturdy it is and sat on it for a while. Some are submerged on the saltwater where small shells and oysters stick on it. I wanna watch those boats but we didn't wanna disturb a couple talking seriously near there, then moved to the cafe instead.

We ordered our coffee as usual, mine is black and for the Patata, it's latte. At this time, many people are here for coffee and breakfast until late in the morning. We also added bread with the coffee because, we will be walking the same distance after this. It would be tiring if our tummy are empty.
