A Walk Through Moscow Universities

This is a post to go with #WednesdayWalk challenge by @tattoodjay.

Exactly one year ago, my daughter and I were walking around Moscow. And I must admit that I forgot about it, but my son-in-law reminded me that I should come to Moscow for a week in November. For some reason, it was fixed in my head that my daughter and I went to visit them in March of this year.
The fact is that my youngest daughter is in her final year of secondary school, she will take her final exams in the spring, and needs to decide on further studies at the university. That's why my daughter and I went to the University in the fall, which my wife liked. I liked it too, but my daughter chooses the place of study with her eyes, so that there is a beautiful building, a nice surrounding area, and the rooms. I initially look at the quality of training offered.

My daughter and I visited the Russian Technological University MIREA (Moscow State Technical University of Radio Engineering, Electronics and Automation). The most important thing is that we listened to a live lecture about the disciplines offered, about additional courses that students can take, about scientific activities, and possible gain of experience. I graduated from the Institute in 1992; the education system and opportunities have long gone ahead, and I myself wanted to understand the current Higher Education system in our turbulent times, when they want to reform this education again with an eye to "the best Soviet education." And I hope that doesn't happen.

I decided to do a little photo shoot for my daughter. For some reason, my youngest daughter and my eldest granddaughter are afraid of the lens. The granddaughter even turns away from the camera.

After visiting the University, I suggested that my daughter go to Vorobyovy Gory and take a walk near Moscow State University. I visited this place last time in 1987. I found it very funny that the weather was cloudy both times. And even a year ago, it started to rain at the end of the walk. My daughter was even upset, and she was tired.

There is a lot of space! A lot!
I took this photo standing on the steps in front of the entrance to Moscow State University.

Well, that's the end of my walk.
Why did I think of her today? My daughter asked me to give her these photos, and it turned out that I hadn't even processed them over the past year, so today I started editing them.
It seems to me that an attentive reader should have noticed that I embellished the sky a little; I gave it a blue color. In fact, the sky was gray, gloomy, and boring. I tried to give a little cheerfulness and gaiety to the shot.

Friends, goodbye! Until the next walk.

Well. I wish all my friends, observers, and readers wonderful walks on Wednesdays. And also on Sundays and any other day!

It’s great that you were able to visit the universities in Moscow with your daughter. It really makes a big difference when parents support their children in choosing their course and school — not by controlling them, but by giving guidance. Children truly need guidance; just because they’re growing up doesn’t mean we should just leave them on their own.

I totally agree with you. Children may not realize this now, but in adulthood they will realize that it was the best time when their parents were there and took care of them.
