I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 6 years now. Although there are many challenges, I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙

Warm greetings all! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

From time to time in these posts I've mentioned that I'm like a nexus point, an inbetweener, or a bridge, living on the edge of, and connecting and intersecting many diverse and different contexts, domains, and worlds. That curious quality has been with me my entire life, and it's always made me a bit...different. While I could mention various such paradoxical integrations, the contrast between two of these radically diffent domains in particular is striking indeed. On the one hand, I live barefooted and naked in an off-grid community in the jungle, and on the other, I'm also deeply passionate about sovereignty-driven technology, like (Arch) Linux, Hive, Qortal, Blurt, among others, which makes for a very challenging bridging of worlds, I must say.

Exactly because the difference between these two domains is so vast, the challenges of maintaining functional hardware technology under such conditions are notable, but because I love it, and because it's important to me, I always find a way. If you could see how and where I have technological infrastructure set up, you'd honestly be astounded. I know I am every time I think about it. Since the conditions here can often be quite moist, keeping hardware, like computers, routers, network switches, and even ethernet heads, functioning over time is not exactly easy, and failures happen quite often. I recently had to spend a whole bunch of money to replace my previous laptop that died after 2 years and a week. I needed a good laptop, so I did what I had to do to get another one.

Things are actually, and very thankfully, better now in a few regards. Our present community internet connection is usually pretty solid now, which allows me to run my Qortal Node 24/7. Once we got new batteries, and after I reprogrammed the battery monitor, our solar electrical system has also become immensely more stable and reliable. Just those two improvements are huge, and they've made the world of difference.

Living as I choose to do, clothes-free and very up-close-and-personal with the living natural world and the elements around me, is also absolutely essential for me, which is why I endure the hardships of working with necessary hardware and software technology under far-from-ideal conditions. Sure, if I chose to live within the regular societal system as most other people do, working with my beloved sovereignty-driven tech would be ridiculously easier, and I could do more with it, but honestly that's no longer an option for me. So I work with what I've got.

The fact that the vast majority of everything that I've done on Hive over the past 3.5 years has been from here at GaiaYoga Gardens, off-grid in the jungle (barring 4 months that I lived in Seaview with my ex-girlfriend Kai, and a month in Nanawale after that), still blows my mind. I've been building my crypto financial empire, and helping to support and grow the Hive community over the years, from my lava perch at the Flow House (an open-air bamboo yurt with a tarp roof), that's right on the edge between lava and jungle, community and solitude, and naked in nature and deep-tech involvement, and even though it's not an ideal situation, it fits and works for me, and for that I am deeply grateful.

Yesterday, Saturday, I left the Flow House, after wrapping up my Hive tasks, just after 2:30PM, and since the weather was not cooperating for photography, I focused on testing the internet connection that I had just set up in Halai Hapai. Very thankfully my test was successful. Once I finished that I went to help Ano to unload his truck after his Friday cocoing trip, and then to reload it for the Sunday Market the next day. When that was completed, I collected more coconut meat and water from a handful of coconuts, that I then blended with some honey to make a new base to ferment kefir, which I'm in the process of switching from raw, whole cow milk over to a coconut medium. After finishing that up, I took a quick asset management break up at the Flow House, and then I went to move and chop a bunch of branches that Ano had cut. As soon as that was done, I got a little photography in, before heading to the Landing to make myself some food (spiced ground beef, eggs, onions, tomatoes, amaranth leaves, pepperjack cheese, and sea salt), and with that and my jar of leftover superfood fire coffee, I returned to the Flow House to dive into my evening Hive tasks, and to catch up on my notifications. I got everything done by a bit after 10:30PM, and after some asset management, and a long scan of my X feed, I went to bed just after 12:30PM. I woke up just before 6AM, having slept well, doing more asset management, getting out of bed to go make my superfood fire coffee in the Landing, then coming back to the Flow House to write this post. It's now just after 1:45PM, so a fantastic time to wrap up this post, so that I may get to my few other important Hive tasks, before leaving the Flow House a little later in the afternoon, to focus first on photography for my posts, and then community/land work. I deeply appreciate y'all so very much! Until tomorrow's iteration of these posts! Always forward, onward, upward, and whaleward, ho, together we go! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

2025 Life Goals

1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.

2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.

3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.

4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.

Support Bradley's BBH Project Witness Node

Bradley's tenaciously committed and all-in on Hive for the long haul (just like me!), and the higher his witness goes in the ranking, the higher the weekly BBH and BBHO dividend payouts will be! Vote Here!

Indeed, the bridge is very challenging, so we must keep it as a goal in life, to keep it fully active. Above all, the wonderful nature and environment, along with the extraordinary natural scenery, are always captivating. May your morning be beautiful and peaceful with this extraordinary nature. I hope that the great creator will definitely help you live a beautiful life.

I wonder, why don't you start being a HIVE witness?

You will be a good witness I hope :), person or on behalf of ALIVE Tribe!

I love the idea, and thank you for that, though sadly I don't really have the necessary infrastructure to run a witness node, although I'd very much like to do so. Well, as with anything that I do on Hive (or in life), I'd definitely do my best. Bjorn has a node and we've talked about turning it into a shared MMB Project/Alive Tribe witness. That may indeed come at some point. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

It's amazing how you've managed to build so much from such a unique and special place as GaiaYoga Gardens.
The connection you describe between nature, technology, and community is truly inspiring.
It's admirable how you've found a balance that works for you and made the most of the circumstances.
