Liotes Power Challenge Update
Today, the @liotes.one account owns 136 Hive Power and there are 213 LEN tokens in the pot!
I would say that creating a circle of friends is a must when joining Hive. You can learn from them and explore deeper in the community with them.
Trying to build relationships is the secret to success on Hive I belive!
It is! I find it super effective. Joining in events is the first step.

i would say learn to walk before you start running. As many ignore the first part.
Everyone just wants to start earning from day 1.
Hive is vast and basically it needs a bit of learning. Firstly setup your system to access hive, like keychains etc.
Talk to the person who enrolled you to hive, via chat on peakd or externally. Get as much information you can from him/her.
Discords are also good way to interact with others.
Start exploring the system. The best way is to read posts and leave a few comments on them. Giveaway posts are best way to start, you may win some tokens.
I started that way, won a decent amount of CTP tokens.
Now that threads are live on leofinance, that is also a best way to interact and also ask questions.
Write a introductory post about yourself. Read a few existing ones before doing that.
lastly, don't get discourage if someone ignores you. There are many on hive who will help you. Don't be shy.

One of my insider tips is finding at least one hive app that can get you in the habit of posting almost daily. For me it’s @actifit , I pretty much use the app as a daily journal. For you it may be @liketu or @dbuzz or some other app
I’d also say find different communities that you vibe with and if they do a challenge or contest, Make an entry for the contest!
it helps you learn how to create long form posts
you meet people with common interest to interact with on hive in the comments for the challenge
you can use that content to form templates in @PeakD that will help you create quality content faster!
And last but not least, comment on other people’s content!
That's an interesting idea. Getting into the habit of creating a daily journal can really be very helpful. Thanks!

The most important tip I could give would be to be consistent! That's something I still struggle with. But other than that, find your niche!
It's definitely not easy to remain consistent over a long period of time. I also struggle with that :-)

My tip is to have fun, not worry about rewards as they will eventually come. Start looking for engagement in communities, look for the ones you like to write about.
That's a very good point. If you look just for the money then you won't last long :-)

The first thing I need to say when they join HIVE of course: "Find a community that suits you."
Sometimes people in the community have different opinions and viewpoints. Offending indirectly and making someone mad are already a usual thing as people have their own perspectives. So, try to find one that suits you first.
P.S. Based on experience
If you already get one community, you can try to spread your word by blogging and joining community activities. Becoming a content creator, especially with something that you need to post every day is kinda hard (It's for a PUM badge!!!).
Overall, if they want to join just because of the crypto games, They'll need to always do research on the HIVE blockchain first. Maybe, I'll give this one >> https://thehiveguide.com/ and ask them to find out how to use Hive Keychain on Youtube (I forget the video that taught me before).
What they should not do...
Hivewatchers technically are police in HIVE.
Gain a bad image in a community will bring down your content. Well, we have a "downvote" feature for a reason.
Sometimes I found someone who just ask and ask. When someone gives him/her something to read (a PDF), he asked again that already on that pdf... It's annoying tbh for some people. You'll get less help if you're lazy to read. Well, you can offend someone too if you're a diligent reader... So, look out at the situation first before asking.
Phishing is bad never do that.
It's already a discussion because AI is overwhelming now. IMO, If you need an AI to generate your blog, what's the point of you as a human here? It's basically like an AI account, not a human.
He said, "Folks don't like that."
^I don't really understand as he just said that... That's the short, simple, and not understandable reason that I ever heard from someone.
I also have a bad one with this but, I always try to make them know what I want to say. My vocabulary is not that much. If they're still reading your words, then you still have a chance. You can ignore them if they're not even reading your words.
It's like behaving because joining the HIVE community is like you're visiting another country. There is so much culture shock or maybe I'm just a weird one 🤣.
Have a nice day~
*It becomes a long comment smh 🤣

My tip is try to read up on the base like what it is about (the system, infrastructure), make friends in tribe discord to learn about what they are doing on hive.
After familiarising sufficiently, start an introductory post. After which, start interacting with other people's post and make new friends. Subsequently, expand that circle and explore new tribes and their people.
The way you explain it, growing on hive is a slow process and I quite agree with that. There are no shortcuts. You need to build relationships, understand how things works before you can go forward.
Yeah, it needs effort and there is no real shortcuts.

My tip is based on the assumption that you have joined Hive to increase your crypto holdings. With that in mind, I have two tips, actually...
I see the passive income optimization there ;-). I think it's a great tip to start as early as possible to accumulate and grow your bags.

Show up and do the work!
If you want to get paid at your job, you have to show up and do the work. Likewise, if you want to get paid on Hive, you have to show up and do the work. You will not make an impact on your bottom line unless you take some action.
Taking action is the single most important thing to do. Whether you write posts or comments. If you don't write them, nothing will come of it :-)

Although I'm just 4 months old on hive but my tip is that make some friends, engage to community and have fun while posting and commenting 😀
Building realtionships and friendships are definitely the most important things to do. It's these relationships that will make you go on when you lose your motivation...

I believe that the initial tip is to enter the hive, look for a community related to your country or language of communication, to be able to talk to the oldest members and get guidance on how to post correctly and what would not be nice to do . I think that this way the person will already get great tips on how to get off to a good start in the hive.
Joining a community and build relationships is certainly a very important factor to be able to "survive" on hive :-)

My first tip would be to find a good group of Hivers or a mentor to hangout with to share best practices and help with learning how things work best. Secondly would be to read and absorb as much as you can from existing Hivers and also to try to engage with content and people that you like. Finally would be not to fomo into things too quickly and instead focus on building up your Hive Power as this is the life blood of Hive and can give you more influence and help you grow faster.. Hive is a two-way thing like in real life.
I definitely agree on this one. When I see people fomo into tokens and having no HP whatsoever, I kind of feel sorry for them...

I would say some "easy" things :
Make friends, thread on leofinance, don't underestimates tags
Making friends is what allowed me to stay more than 5 years on this chain. I think it's the secret ingredient that will define whether you stick with hive or not.

Fundamental advice for a person who starts in HIVE would be to start by exploring the different communities and find those that interest him/her and start participating actively in them, sharing original and quality content is fundamental to build a solid reputation in HIVE.
It is also important to interact with other users, comment and vote on their publications.
Avoiding plagiarism and respecting the rules of the communities is also determinant for success on HIVE.

Haha, I was on my Hot Spot too, because the wifi wasn't going anywhere. I hope I didn't go over the limit. Yes, I can see the usage on my phone, but there's one small print - your provider may charge differently. 😃
To return to the question. What matters most is that you want to be a community member. You will leave if the community does not offer you what you expect.
In 10 days I will have my anniversary - 7 years on Hive (Steemit too). I was a slow learner, it wasn't my main online preoccupation, but now it is. I'm not interested in anything else online at all. But to get to this point I had to persevere at first, and once I started interacting more with others it all went faster. Interaction in the community is the most important thing, I think.
But it's important to know that I came here to write a blog about what I'm doing, I don't understand crypto that much to just do that. I'm not as systematic as say @liotes team or @mypathtofire. 😎
7 years is pretty impressive! Congrats on that.
I think that you are quite right about that. It's much easier to start within a limited community. Learn from it and maybe later tweak out to other communities. It's the easiest way to build relationships when you are in smaller circle I belive.

For me Hive is a social network, so I would recommend looking for a community according to her taste, posting and interacting with other people is the coolest thing about hive, I would also recommend never disrespecting a user because here everyone is free :)
I think that is what sets hive a part from other social networks. By being kind to each other we manage to bring out the better sides of ourselves.

If you had to give a tip for a person starting on hive, what counsel would you give that person :
I would say to find the community that suit their passion, and then learn from the best author there, that way, you could get a benchmark or a standard for how you better write to receive a welcome from the community
What is according to you the single most important thing that you should not do on hive?
Definitely plagiarism, as this community really hates that, and trying recycling old post to get rewards is definitely things that we should not do as well
We should always keep in mind that our content is supposed to bring added value to someone and to the chain. If we copy stuff from other or if we use the same content over and over, we are missing the point. Great advice!
3 credits added for the liotes ranking
If you are just starting, you can not earn from curation so the only way to earn is from creating content both posts and comments. Explore what is on Hive because there are so many communities that if you just start and stay in the one that first caught your eye, you might miss out on so much.

My tip would be to find something that you enjoy. It could be just reading the wide variety of articles and thoughts from people here, or writing, or a game. :)
Doing something that you are passionate about is definitely a good way to keep your motivation high for a long time.

I think some points are, make friends, if you like someone, follow them and support them, also another piece of advice is to be careful with selling in lows and buying in highs, always analyze and seek to make the best investments, and last but not least least important, always try to make quality content.
I agree with all 3 points, especially with the second. I gave up trying to buy low and sell high. I never manage to get the timing, so I changed my strategy and I always do cost averaging. This is so much less painful :-)

I'd tell everyone to get themselves a Splinterlands account, and then participate in the twice Weekly Challenges from Splinterlands. They're one of the largest and most consistent curators on HIVE and the amounts one can get weekly there will very quickly add up into a sizable sum. 😜
If people like games, that is definitely a good way of starting. In addition they need to put some money into the game which is actually a very good motivator to stick around :-)
3 credits added for the liotes ranking
Great question, and I'd say the same things I usually tell new users who are asking — explore, learn, have fun and most importantly, never expect you'll be noticed soon as you start. Some people get disappointed when they don't get upvotes on their contents and that is understandable. As Jongolson often say, keep showing up and do your part. The reward will come eventually.
And of course, don't treat Hive as a milking cow😅
I like that sentence and I think we should never forget it :-)
Glad you do :)

Thank you, I appreciate it.
I would say it's to find the right community and engage. Maybe follow taskmaster4450's goal of leaving 500 meaningful comments. It goes a long way towards building your own position and moving up in the hive blockchain.
It's definitely a long process that requires work and comittment. It's good to know that from the start so as not to have wrong excpetations.

New manual curation account for Leofinance and Cent
Hello! Was recommended by my buddy @mypathtofire here to get some insider tips myself as I'm still pretty new to this space and is hoping to learn and grow along with everyone!
However, from the past 3-4months that I have been here in Hive, I would think that authentically engaging with the Hive community is of the upmost importance. Focusing on building relationships, creating quality content, leaving meaningful comments, and connecting with topic-specific communities would make this a really enjoyable journey 😁
I agree with all you say and I think what matters is to take Hive and the people there seriously. A lot of people here are dedicated and when they see a similar dedication from new people, that's when new relationships can be started. Thanks for stopping by!
Appreciate what the pioneers from the different Communities are doing.
Although it is not easy to begin the journey here in Hive with low visibility, through dedication and building those relationships, one can definitely grow within this space!
To all fellow newbies, let's work hard and persevere in this journey! 💪

That Hive is like any other part of society ruled by the powerful. Freedom and justice are not present. The only important thing is the HP.
Well hive is just a part of society in general with the same actors so it's not surprising that we see the same power dynamics. And I agree HP matters a lot...
3 credits added for the liotes ranking
Whatever you do, persevere, and don't give up! Build relationships with peers (don't try to get into the graces of whales!) and ask questions when you don't understand something. Take feedback! If someone tells you you are doing something wrong on Hive, take note. Maybe you should ask someone you've build a relationship with and who is already more savvy on Hive or even the person who corrected you how to improve/fix things.
I think that's the most important message ever :-). Friends help you in that, they motivate you to go on even if you have some down periods. Not giving up is the single most important factor for hive success because it's a long process and it works only if you don't give up :-)

I'm addressing the average Joe with this one, since Hive is frankly very complicated:
Engage: comment, post Threads, and introduce yourself. Treat it like any social media platform by making connections. The earnings will come in time. You don't have to feel overwhelmed if you don't know something: ask questions when you're unclear or curious about something, and the knowledge of how to make the best of this platform will come naturally. As long as you're consistent, you can get a lot of Hive.
I'd also mention that my own community is very friendly to new users and will help jump-start their early growth!
Many newcomers are probably too shy or don't have the correct mindset to ask questions. I think this is a very important message because for us long time hivers, whenever we get a good question, it gives us an idea for a post lol
