How to participate?

Choose your song: Pick your favorite song that you think deserves to be recognized and make you feel #Aliveandthriving

Share Your Choice: Post the song title, artist and corresponding video in the comments of this blog.

Explain Why: Tell us briefly why you chose that song - does it inspire you? Does it bring back good memories? Does it make you feel #Aliveandthriving?

Closing of Entries: Entries will close next Thursday at 00:00 AM UTC.

Reason: This song is evergreen. I heard and learnt about it in the late nineties, yet it remains fascinating and priceless.
Tells us about the power of dreaming high.

Hey, I guess I'll stay with the 'protest' song theme, although not as direct. I think I may have already shared a song from Green Day in the past, but not this one I hope: American Idiot. It's sad that so many years after it was released first denouncing W Bush, it is still relevant with the current and obviously dumbest president in American history. We'll see if they play it in the Super Bowl opening ceremony tomorrow, of course changing the lyrics because we're not part of this moronic MAGA movement. Politics aside, it's a great tune, with the usual pop-punk energy we always get from Green Day. We saw them live last time they were in town a couple years ago, and of course we'll go again when they come back.
