Is there a way for competition to be healthy? well I think this is a very important question, a question that I should have asked myself a very long time ago, because sometimes I just take everything as a competition, it might not start as a competition, but it usually sometimes ends as a competition, and to be honest, it’s not even worth it, it’s not nice, it’s stressful, the thinking, the pressure, the stress, the act to think continuously how not to loose to my competitor.

And it goes on and on like that, cause I mean why should I be the one lagging, I mean does the person ahead have two head? This and many other questions enters our head when we think of a competition.

Very funny but I also believe that our parents were also part of the problem we had growing up and thinking that competition was a do and win affair, and when you eventually or mistakenly loose, you hate your competitor and would even have the mind to face the Crowd with your failure face and all.

The thought of ”what do I tell my parents when I get home and they ask how my competition went?” do I just say fine and avoid them? What will I say when they are trying to get details?

Many of us don't like to go through that stress of telling our parent what our sessions really are like, because they might judge us and we always do not want to be judged and because of that we try as much as possible to do anything to win the competition so we don’t get embarrassed by your parent.

Very absent minded that by doing this, you forget the main points of doing what you are doing, and your first pressure points is to win because you must not loose, not because it’s fun or because you get to learn new things.

I think I basically know when a competition becomes unhealthy and toxic when priorities and goal changes, I feel like as selfish humans that we are, we all want the best for us and maybe others when we are the best, no one wants to be under anyone.

When I start a journey, I started it because I wanted to make mama proud, or I started it because I wanted to get a particular thing, but eventually, I get to meet someone on the same line who probably started when I stared but all of a sudden starts doing way better than I would have imagined.

I must have taken my time to think about what this person must have done to get to where this person is and then jealousy starts to enter and then it’s nurtured, it turned to hatred, and after that your priorities and destination changes, you loose your focus and start chasing what you are not supposed to.

So we can now ask how do you keep the balance?
Well, first thing first, never loose your focus, don’t see a hurdle as a challenge, see it as a lesson.
Be humble enough to learn, you are in a world or system where you must meet people in the field you are and someone will be always be better awhile you’ll be better than another. That is almost inevitable, they say where a persons knowledge ends, that’s where another person’s knowledge starts, so be calm, always bring your head to learn so you, one day can be said that where someone’s knowledge ends is where yours starts.

Don’t be the only one who knows, also be able to teach others, if you can’t do these, then these competitions are unhealthy.

A healthy relationship is one where you put the pressure to become better version of yourself.
I’ll repeat that

Why I repeated that is because we should not see competition as beating others but beating our yesterday, our old selves. I mean let’s look back and see that we have moved from where we are to where want to be, a step forward is a step closer.
