the library has been forgotten

Hello Hive

How are you all, in this digital era it is very difficult to implement the habit of reading books as people used to do even though we know that books are a storehouse of knowledge and by reading many books, knowledge and insight will increase, now there are many libraries that are deserted by visitors, only students who often come to the library to look for school assignments

Honestly, I say that I myself have not read books and also newspapers such as newspapers and others for a long time because I can access everything just in my grasp so that it makes me very lazy to hold books or newspapers because every reference I need can be accessed via cellphone

After I thought for a moment, it turned out that libraries are still very much needed, especially for students, why do I say that because there are still many sources of knowledge that cannot be accessed digitally, such as there are still many school lessons that cannot be accessed via Google, we can conclude that the sources of knowledge learned from digital are not all presented and arranged because what is displayed by digital is only the essence and outline of a the main problem but there are no detailed explanations and characteristics

In the past, since the library became one of the sources of knowledge, many of us took the time to go to the library to read books and spend hours there, but it was very enjoyable, some even borrowed the book to take home and continue reading at home, the public's interest in reading and learning was very high, sometimes we needed a teacher to explain the contents of the reading, it was extraordinary

I remember that time I once borrowed a story book from the library at my school, there were certain rules for borrowing books in the library and they had to be obeyed, the following rules were:

  1. You are not allowed to scribble on the book, after borrowing the book, it must be properly guarded, it must not be torn, it must not be used as a seat mat, and it must not be used as a protective tool when it rains, the book must not be lost.

  2. The loan period is 3 days, no later than one week, the book must be returned, if the reading has not been finished and you are still very interested, the loan period can be extended with certain provisions.

  3. Violating the above rules will be subject to a fine according to the level of violation, the most severe is having to pay for the book

Hearing the rule I was very scared, I didn't read much of the book, I just kept it in my room, afraid of losing it, afraid of tearing it, then after three days I immediately returned it to the library, seeing the book I returned was still smooth, no scratches, the librarian offered another book related to the book I borrowed, but I refused and said thank you ma'am, maybe this is the effect of too many rules being applied, but on the other hand, the rules are needed to maintain order in the library

Children now no longer care about the library, they are already busy with Android gadgets and digital smartphones have changed everything. I see that children now are not interested in going to the library and borrowing reading books to take home, they seem to ignore the library and think it is not important

If the library is no longer needed, maybe its resources can be diverted to a more modern level of learning, such as holding a laboratory in school, considering that students now prefer to learn practice rather than theory, maybe this is a solution.

Thus my participation post thank you for coming have a nice day.

I agree with you that not all materials can accessed via Google or any website. Libraries are still needed in this digital age where we find ourselves.

Yes, because I myself have tried to search for my lecture material on Google but the results failed.

Libraries are very important nonetheless. Well-written.
