INTEGRATING DIGITAL SKILLS INTO THE SCHOOL CURRICULUM

Any literacy at all is good for kids. It is expected and strongly advised that kids are taught this thing at an early stage, at least the basics if not deeply. I have benefited strongly while I was coming up; I learned the basics of computer.

Coding and programming is a very important skill one should clamor to have in this digital age; it is a skill that has shown immense importance in every field of life. Having to learn coding and programming, even as an adult, will not only improve your knowledge set but will also improve your standard of living.

It is important to learn important skill sets like coding and programming early in life. In these modern days, children have proven themselves to be very sharp and very intelligent. It will surprise you what some 3-year-old will do if given a room to show their abilities. Some of these children could operate some gadgets like phones and other digital devices far better than some adults.

Early engagement of kids with these skill sets will help them converse with the workings of these skill sets and will create a better and quality population in the future. Introducing this skill set to school curriculums is what I will very much subscribe to; this will not only help them gain skills but could help them develop early interest in these skill sets.

I can remember my days in school when they made computer and French language a compulsory subject in school. This made me fall in love with computer and the French language as we were taught the basics on the topic in consideration. I was able to learn the basic greetings and a few other words in the French language because I was taught in school. If it were to be optional, I probably would not choose the French Language as a subject to which I would take as part of my class.

The knowledge of computer studies, which was also something that was forced on me, has really become a very viable skill set. With the basic knowledge I had, I was able to find my way around the computer and also teach myself some other skills which I was not taught in school. This could only happen because computer was made compulsory for me in school, and as a result, I fell in love with the subject.

I probably wouldn't know anything about the French language or the computer today if I was not forced to learn, or rather, if it was not made a compulsory topic during my school days. Although there might be a downside to this, as some wards could find it difficult because it has been introduced too early to them and as such might develop a hate for it or might lose interest in it. But on a general note, I will suggest that it will be a great idea if these are introduced early in school and even made compulsory.

You are right sir.
Introducing coding and programming early to kids can help ignite interest/passion in them, and can also help discover hidden talents and all.

Thanks for sharing.

This is the digital age and in this realm of life, the best is to allow our children to learn coding and programming as this will develop their mode of thinking. It can also make them stand out among their equals.
We did not happened to take that subject in school as I knew nothing about this subject when I was still in school.
