Mind Games

Sincerely speaking, I don't think anyone completely knows everything about someone, and this is because I strongly believe that no matter how open minded you are, no matter how much you want to be an open book, there will always be some things that you just have to keep to yourself because 'accepting someone for who they are' has never truly been an honest statement before, and I believe that the moment you truly know every single thing about someone, you probably wouldn't want to be close to them anymore.

Anyways, to answer today's contest question, if I should find out that my partner has always had the ability to read my mind and from the very first day we met has always known when I was lying and telling the truth, well I would be very very terrified of her.

And I say that because knowing what's on someone's mind is one thing, another thing is being able to control yourself in a way where you don't get to react when you know they're clearly lying about what they're saying to you. If you ask me, having such amount of control over yourself should be a superpower on its own, so technically she would have two powers, the first being able to read minds and the second one being self control.

Anyways, the moment I find out that she can read minds, I probably would walk out of the relationship and would rather prefer to be just friends with her instead. And this is because, in as much as we wouldn't like to admit it, lying plays a role in having a peaceful loving relationship.

And this is because there could be times where your partner could be feeling down and probably needs you to motivate them in order to keep their spirit high...but meanwhile deep down in your heart, you also have doubts about them completing the task ahead but then you wouldn't want to tell them that because no loving partner would willingly want to make their partner feel more sad by telling them that you don't believe in them.

So what do we do, we tell them that we believe in them and that we know they can handle the task and come out at the top. But then, here you are with a partner that can read minds and already knows that you don't entirely believe that she could handle the task, how do you think that would affect you guys during the long run?

At the end of the day, 9 out of the 10 arguments you two would have would be about words you haven't even spoken out yet. Imagine having to apologise all the time just because you thought of something you shouldn't have. It's crazy and definitely not a stress I would want to pass through.

This is why I feel like someone with that kind of power will fit better in my life as a friend. That way you can help me out and tell me who's lying to me even before they do.. We will make the perfect duo with me benefitting the most from the friendship... Lol
