Unfulfilled promise

Greetings, everyone!

Welcome to a new week of Grace and abundance, a week of strength and new opportunities. It's of the lord's mercy that we are not consumed, and He has kept us through the months, weeks, and days, preserving us and protecting us.

Today's featured contest is a broken promise'. In one way or the other, we have had a promise with our loved ones either in a relationship in a business matter, or between parents and children. A broken promise has occurred several times, and it will continue because we aren't perfect beings. Only God can promise and redeem it to His perfection.

A broken promise is when someone promises to do something for you and fails to carry it out, especially giving your words to something but not doing it, which can result in disappointment or hurting the person.

However, I had a spiritual father whom I stayed in his house, finished secondary, and gained admission at his house. At the appointed time, I left his house for the school hostel to further my studies and the rest of my life. Since I left him and his wife, I never went to see them, but I spoke with them by phone call, and I always gave them this promise that I would come and see them. Unfortunately, the wife died without fulfilling my promise of visiting them, and I kept speaking with the husband. I even told him that I would visit him before leaving for service, but I still failed at my words. My call-up letter came out, and my State deployment was far, and I couldn't visit as I told him. Instead, I prepared myself to travel to my deployment State to meet the requirements as a PCM who is now a corp member. He called me and expressed how disappointed he is and how hurting he is, because of my broken promise' I have given to him through my words but not keeping to any of them. I also felt bad for not responding in the right way as I promised him. There is something I have in mind to commensurate for my absence, just to send a token to him. I believe that will be fine. But I have built distrust in his heart when it comes to my words, for him to believe me, I have to put it into action.

Nevertheless, someone has also disappointed me for not keeping to his words. I was looking for a certain amount of money to get my skincare products and deodorant. He promised to send the money immediately, but I waited for hours before he could send it, and it wasn't that day again. I was disappointed and hurt in my heart and wasn't excited throughout the day.

All these are occurring because we are humans; no one is perfect, and this occurrence will happen till the end of the world. Broken promises' happened between husband and wife and many others. We just need to change from our broken promise words and be active.

As you said, we are human, and there will always be broken promises, they are necessary to educate and learn, although they hurt ... but they also make people like me, that we believe only in a few people.

I guess that is just how life is. Not everyone can keep their promises, in fact that is the most common case. In today's world more promises are disregarded than accounted for, so much so that people take it for granted that words will not be kept. I believe all this is pushing away from what makes us human, the empathy is lacking, we should be more sincere in our promises and work towards keeping them.

Definitely, we must be sincere and work towards our promises. Thank you so much.
