That one travel experience that left me wanting more.
Hello, everyone.
Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learner's featured post. If I were to be in another country, one with better roads and better transport systems, where the lives of those on the road are not always threatened or exposed to dangers like kidnapping, I would always put traveling as my first hobby whenever I am asked, but living in a country like mine sometimes makes traveling quite scary. Growing up as a kid, the one thing I always looked forward to was holiday periods when schools would vacate and we would have at least a month of holiday to enjoy ourselves and explore.
My parents never failed to make our every holiday count, as we always traveled to spend holidays with our uncle in another state. If Dad and Mom had work to do and would not be spending the holiday there with us, they would just take us there and then travel back the same day or the day after. Those days were ones to look back at and say they were the days when traveling was fun and came with a lot of excitement because it was always a smooth sail back then, no fear of what lies ahead, no thinking about what if we are kidnapped.
Back then it was a fun experience when travelling with mom and dad or just with dad especially with just dad, whatever you point your hands at will be bought for you, so we always looked forward to the fun of experiencing the road once again as well as having to eat and taste all the goodies you can lay hands on but my excitement for traveling started to die down slowly when roads began to get bad, public transport companies don't even care about passengers because of how they load the buses and give passengers little or no room for comfort, now whenever I hear about traveling I start to think about the stress that follows, the discomfort, all the stop and search by both soldiers and police on the road, for me at this point there is little or no excitement that comes with traveling anymore as I always have to brace for impact because there always be.
I traveled to my uncle's place two weeks ago, and it was indeed one beautiful experience that left me wanting more. I've never been a fan of visiting uncles because of my last experiences, but my uncle kept asking me to come see him, and he made it worthwhile. Though my fear of travelling in this country was made a reality, the bad roads, the police harassing young boys, and the discomfort in the bus were all part of the journey, but all that faded away the moment I reached my uncle's house; the way he welcomed me was second to none.
He is still a bachelor, unlike the ones I have visited before that are married and their wives want to turn me into a houseboy. This one gave me all the freedom I needed to be comfortable, and we had so much fun because we had quite a few hangouts, and he introduced me to some of his friends, and they too were really fun to be around. No one played the seniority card, but as the smallest, I knew my limit and watched my words. They, too, were kind enough to take me in, and we all bonded like we had known each other for a long time.
Aside from the stress on the road, I enjoyed every bit of the time spent with my uncle and his friends. My last journey is one that left me wanting more. I wish school had vacated so I could spend more time there.

Our road truly is one of the discouraging factors especially for people who have motion sickness. Spending time with loved ones who takes us as one is a thing that we wish will continue.
Thank you for sharing
Our road is just something else, traveling is no longer as exciting as it used to be.
Whenever you are going to meet your uncle, kindly call me so we can go together. Meanwhile let arrange wife for your uncle.
😂😂
Hopefully he does not marry the one that will want him to cut ties with other family members.
It is exactly what parents can afford. They try to take their children to a special and beautiful place every vacation where their minds can relax. Because we see that children are burdened with studies and other life issues are going on, so it is necessary to take all the people to take the children for a walk so that they can feel relaxed.
