My Phone: A Companion Per Excellence
Good morning dear friends.
It's another beautiful day filled with a lot of tasks and deadlines to meet but despite that, my heart keeps dropping back here. Talking about my attachment to my phone, men, there is no other close associate to me than my phone. Other associates are secondary and to an extent, my spouse. I am not proud to say that but it is.
On the one hand, my phone is my office and therein, I have a lot of departments where I get feedback from to be able to play my official role as an employee.
On the other hand, my phone plays the role of making me stay connected with family. For positive growth in families, there must be effective communication. Sometimes, while I am at work and do not have enough time to give my darling wife a call, I would just send a text message to her. The text message is usually to check up on her but in some cases, it end up to be a love play where she replies and I reply and on and on. This is why my phone is always with me and I do not take my hands off it. For easy access to my email, my phone plays a pivotal role. And I also connect to social media platforms like Facebook, instagram and the X app to find out the latest gist in town. I love gist.
Do you know that your phone has multi-functions? Yes, it does. I remember very well that I do check the weather updates, news, direction and other information through.my phone. In a nutshell, my phone helps me to stay informed. Aside from getting updated I could say I am addicted to my phone. In this case, it is a good addiction.
Through alarms and reminders, my phone makes me productive in all that I do. I collaborate on projects easily through my phone. I remember the ongoing coastal road project, I got a connection to supply some materials for a company in Abuja who got the job via social media and it has been rewarding, frankly speaking. Funny enough, I have not met these guys in person, all the discussion was done through the phone.
Another thing that keeps me glued to my phone is the entertainment part of it. Before I started writing this piece I have been watching the just concluded BET Awards where many black entertainers in the music and movie industry were recognized as icons. You would only just imagine how possible it is to watch a fiesta that was held in the US live via your social media handle. It was quite an experience and one great reason I would always keep my phone next to me. Have you been on Tiktok lately to catch up with some amazing live shows where you can make a living through gifts? I bet you, that's another level of a social gathering you don't want to miss.
In a dangerous world like ours, where kidnapping is the order of the day, with your phone it becomes easy to trace to your current location through the GPS capabilities that are on your phone. You can also navigate unfamiliar places like nearby restaurants, police stations, fuel stations, hotels and so on. Through my phone, I could also get directions for walking and driving. I think that phones are quite underrated.
Shopping has been made easy through the availability of online shopping platforms, something that was rare before. There are so many shops that you have the liberty to choose from a lot of them and compare prices. Many new books now have e-copies where you can just drove in through your phone and read or even make reviews. If not that emotion is attached, it could easily be said that your phone is your companion and as such, you want to make the best of it.
Aside from moments when I have to sleep, I am with my phone every other session. It is the easiest route to connecting with others in other parts of the world. We share updates on the latest events and career prospects that exist. And the best part of it all is when you see events happening live in other parts of the world where you could have paid handsomely to see if you have had to travel.
For emergency communication, my phone is a crucial mechanism that helps me reach the people I need to reach to help resolve what could be life threatening.
I am proud to say that I depend on my phone for a lot of things which could make me productive in all spheres of life. I could send e-mails and even write letters when I am not in the office to reach a client who may need quick service.
I try everyday to convince myself about this always stuck in the middle. I know I am dependent on my phone and I still appreciate it.
We just have to accept the reality but be moderate is the handling of phones to create a balance.
Phones have made life very easy, communication has been improved with it's arrival and even earning has been simplified. A lot of people got opportunities that transformed their lives through their smart phones.
Am glad that the addiction to phone in your case is the good addiction, trust me for me people it is a very bad one.
All we need to do is maximize the opportunities that comes with smartphones. There are tens of devastations that arises with a negative addiction.
You know, you can create a quality career for yourself through your phone and clinch a good job too.
To keep our sanity, there is need to live by the good sides of using our smartphones.
