Is it fair that someone should pay for the decisions of a country's leaders? Well, that answer is very obvious and doesn't even deserve to be expressed; everyone already knows what it would be. But it happens that, if one country is somehow in conflict with another, whether through military, economic, or diplomatic wars, some people end up being reprimanded because of that situation. It will never be fair. What we suffer most is injustice because of politicians and wars in which we are not a part, in which we are merely pawns on a chessboard, and sometimes not even that.

Is it fair that ordinary people pay the price for something that is totally beyond their control? No, it isn't. Who, in their right mind, would think otherwise? There is a huge difference between punishing an entire nation and punishing only the person who made the mistake. But we know that, in politics, this doesn't happen; the mistakes of incompetent people end up being paid for by the common person, by the people, while, in the end, that incompetent idiot continues to enjoy the best, the money unjustly taken from those who suffer the consequences. It makes no sense to hold millions responsible for the actions of a few, and the consequences don't even reach those they should; that's the reality.

When countries impose economic sanctions, it ends up affecting citizens much more than leaders; it doesn't reflect on those who should be affected. Who pays the price? The rope always breaks at the weakest point. With sanctions or even boycotts, we see athletes banned, artists prevented from working, populations suffering from inflation or lack of products, even immigrants facing discrimination. Well, the list is long, and in none of them will we see a politician being reprimanded, punished internationally, or even by their own country. Look, a bad decision would have a punishment in any other sphere we could imagine. But with politicians… well, there are no consequences. They are transferred to us.

What should be seen in these conflicts is the separation between government and population. There should be some kind of empathy on the part of those who govern the world, realizing that their decisions, however much they are made in the name of supposed "progress," will affect lives, families, children… I know that many of these conflicts, mostly economic, aim for profit and growth; the focus is always on the nation itself, on how it can benefit from something. But it is extremely selfish to think like that, to look only at oneself, to look only at progress and not at human lives. To think that one's nation is superior or that it has the right to claim something for itself. These conflicts destroy the whole, they destroy a world that belongs to everyone. Imaginary lines serving as delimiters of possession, desire, and oppression, and of course… the consequences of these futile fights are paid for, and we already know very well by whom.

I believe that the greatest flaw of humanity is precisely those in power and their almost childish fights over certain interests. Tariffs here, import taxes there, and meanwhile, here we are, fighting to survive. Aiming for profit while people go hungry, desiring more land while many don't even have a place to live, talking about progress while their own population, increasingly affected by bad decisions, languishes, becomes impoverished, and lives poorly. It's sad to look at everything that's happening and realize that those who should be punished, those who should look down and see what's happening, are just men with the behavioral instincts of children, fighting over toys and attention, throwing tantrums and screwing over the population.

É justo que alguém pague pelas decisões dos líderes de um país? Bem, essa resposta é muito óbvia e nem merecia ser expressa, todos já sabem qual seria. Mas acontece que, se de alguma forma um país está em conflito com outro, seja por guerras militares, econômicas ou diplomáticas, algumas pessoas acabam sendo repreendidas por conta dessa situação. Justo nunca será. O que mais sofremos é injustiça por causa de políticos e guerras das quais não fazemos parte, das quais somos apenas peões em uma mesa de xadrez, e às vezes nem isso.

É justo que pessoas comuns paguem o preço por algo que está totalmente fora do controle delas? Não, não é. Quem, em sã consciência, pensaria o contrário? Existe uma diferença enorme entre punir uma nação inteira e punir apenas quem cometeu o erro. Mas sabemos que, na política, isso não acontece, erros de incompetentes acabam sendo pagos pela pessoa comum, pelo povo, enquanto, no final, aquele idiota incompetente continua desfrutando do melhor, do dinheiro retirado injustamente dos que sofrem as consequências. Não faz sentido responsabilizar milhões por ações de poucos e as consequências nem chegam em quem deveriam chegar, essa é a realidade.

Quando países impõem sanções econômicas, isso acaba atingindo os cidadãos muito mais do que os líderes, não reflete em quem deveria. Quem paga o preço? A corda sempre arrebenta no ponto mais fraco. Com sanções ou mesmo boicotes, vemos esportistas banidos, artistas impedidos de trabalhar, populações sofrendo com inflação ou falta de produtos, até mesmo imigrantes passando a enfrentar discriminação. Bem, a lista é grande e em nenhuma delas vamos ver um político sendo repreendido, punido internacionalmente ou sequer pelo próprio país. Veja bem, uma decisão ruim teria uma punição em qualquer outro âmbito que pudéssemos imaginar. Mas com políticos… bem, não existem consequências. Elas são transferidas para nós.

O que deveria ser visto nesses conflitos é a separação entre governo e população. Deveria existir algum tipo de empatia por parte dos que regem o mundo, ao perceberem que suas decisões, por mais que sejam tomadas em nome de um suposto "progresso", elas vão afetar vidas, famílias, crianças… Sei que muitos desses conflitos, em sua maioria econômicos, visam lucro e crescimento, o olhar está sempre voltado para a própria nação, em como ela pode se beneficiar de algo. Mas é extremamente egoísta pensar assim, olhar apenas para si, olhar apenas para o progresso e não para vidas humanas. Achar que sua nação é superior ou que tem o direito de reivindicar algo para si. Esses conflitos destroem o todo, destroem um mundo que é de todos. Linhas imaginárias servindo de delimitador de posse, de desejo e de opressão, e claro… as consequências dessas brigas fúteis são pagas e já sabemos bem por quem.

Eu acredito que o maior defeito da humanidade são justamente aqueles que estão no poder e suas brigas quase infantis sobre determinados interesses. Tarifas daqui, taxa de importação de lá, e enquanto isso cá estamos nós, lutando para sobreviver. Visando lucro enquanto pessoas passam fome, desejando mais terras enquanto muitos nem têm onde morar, falando de progresso enquanto sua própria população, cada vez mais afetada pelas decisões ruins, definha, empobrece e vive mal. É triste olhar para tudo que está acontecendo e perceber que quem deveria ser punido, quem deveria olhar para baixo e ver o que está acontecendo, são apenas homens com instintos comportamentais de crianças, brigando por brinquedos e atenção, fazendo birra e ferrando a população.
