The Military Job - Admiration From A Far Distance

avatar

For one who haven't done so many jobs in her life, anyone would think it would be hard to decide on a legal job I can never do in my lifetime no matter how high the pay is. Well, that is not right, I know very much one job I would never do.

I've once written a post about a job I would hate to do and that is being a lawyer, I gave my reasons but I didn't overlook the beauty of being a lawyer, the job is amazing but definitely not for Merit, I mean, myself.

But after a deeper thought, and a random question from a friend, I realize another job I would NEVER do in my lifetime even if it is the one job left in the world to do no matter how great, high in pay and secured the job is presented to me.

That job is "Being a military woman" wether here in Nigeria or outside my country, I refuse to imagine myself doing that as a profession.

No, I don't hate the job, it's actually the correct opposite... I admire military women and how smart and powerful they look in their military wears. The respect is higher when I see the ones with high ranks and are being taken seriously with so much respect from civilians and even low ranking military men.

I admire and love military woman but why can I never be one of them?

There are way too many reasons I could give but I'll share three main ones that have succeeded in ruling out this job from the list of jobs I could possibly do.

I had that weird mentality: I know this might seem like I'm being discriminative but I've always seen military jobs as one for the men and not just for any man, strong, disciplined and intolerable men. The job is more about being a guard, a security and a life saver than actually getting a good pay. Seeing women do this is very admirable but it's a big no for me, I can't do it!

I hate exercises/I'm not the strong kind of lady: I once lived with a cousin of mine who went for military training some distance away from home. He would come back home looking like who was almost killed with blood marks on his body. I couldn't even begin to imagine how his training routine were like but I knew definitely I would never be able T survive that. I find it hard to do normal daily exercises, it only makes sense I can never do harder ones.

I wouldn't want a job that would take me away from family: My family once lived close to barracks where we befriended a lot of amazing military men. They would tell us lots of stories about how mobile their lives had been and their friends they've lost while away from home. Imagine a married woman among them telling such story too lol. I wouldn't want to imagine going far away from my family because of a job no matter how much it would pay.

With these and many other obvious reasons, I would never do the job of a military woman. There are many more jobs out there to consider and even if there are none, I'd still not choose to be a military woman.

Being a soldier is also a no-no for me and in addition to some of the reasons you mention, another red flag for me is the big risk involved while fighting battles, there's always a possibility that a person might go to war and not return, definitely not worth the risk even if I'm offered millions of dollars

Yeah, that's one danger in it
So full of uncertainties, I still admire how people accept to do them even with those risks involved.

The points you raised are well thought out for a military career, a strong exercise routine that is not for everyone, as well as being away from family, is something that I would not be able to achieve either. I believe a military career is for those who really enjoy it, especially because if there was a war and being drafted, my God, I can't even imagine, it would be really bad!

I much prefer love !LUV

Being a military officer is straining though, you probably won't do it because of your idea about it.

Being a military personnel is however the opposite, they look for brains than strength... And with brains like yours, it's something you can do

Especially in the Airforce or Navy
The army is a place for physical brutality so it's a no no even for me

Lol I didn't say I want to do a job like that, it's actually the opposite
I just admire women who do it as a profession.

I know what you said 😂

I'm saying you might reconsider if the chances are right... That is you understand the military system better

Working with the military is different from working for the military

You could be a doctor working with the military as a personnel and still get all the admirable benefits without needing to go through the rigorous training those working for the military go through

Oh yeah, I know that
I was referring to the ones who are the main military people

Largely, I won't do military too - especially those involved in direct combat. But on the other hand, I can do military - if those gruesome exercises are skipped for me. I wish. The aspect of the military I would love to work with is their IT or tech basically. Or better still, those security agencies attached to the office of the presidency.

Just beneath a laptop and a wide screen churning out codes, emails and maybe tracking UAVs.

However, those in the military are really doing a great job of protecting the national integrity of the country, it takes a lot of sacrifices!

Haha yeah, maybe I'd consider if it isn't about combat and gruesome exercises lol

You don't hate the job but that job is not for you and in my case I also think it's not a job for me because I am the lazy one maybe more lazier than you😅.
But in my opinion, I don't think we should consider it as a job because it's more than that. What do you think?

Lol you can't be lazier than I am, I doubt that.
It is a job here in my country though, people rely on it to earn a living.
