A Virtue I Admire, A Virtue That Pays Virtues

I've read so many entries regarding this HL topic and I felt a lot have been said, different virtues and I couldn't think of any that haven't been written on. Having to choose just one virtue that I could forgive everything for, that got me thinking a little more harder especially with the fact that it has to be the winning virtue over other virtues.

Well, I feel every virtue are important and have their role to play in the lives of humans. There is no best virtue or should I say, no less virtue as each of them found in a person is one to admire.

But I thought of one that pays every virtue and that I admire so much in people that have them... Hard work

I've said it a few times before that I'm not the hard working kind, I can get very lazy sometimes but there are a few things I do that I can get very enthusiastic about so my laziness won't show on those aspect. As a lazy but not so lazy person, I admire hard working people.

I love honesty, simplicity, being genuine, empathy and a lot of other virtues in humans and I feel these virtues should be found in everyone of us. I love and could forgive anyone if the person is hardworking too. I'm not saying there won't be other reasons to forgiving such a one but I feel a hardworking person has all it takes to build the other virtues.

I've seen what laziness could cause that builds bad situations, ugly experiences and worse, even death cases. Hardworking people tend to live well especially the ones who are creative with it and does it for the good of themselves and others. I've seen how hard work virtue takes people to higher heights in life.

A personal story

I've once lived with two roommates while running a year's program. The program extended to a year and a few months so I had to keep staying with my two roommates but I couldn't bear to stay with one of them. The reason was clear, she was way lazier than I was. I hated the fact that I was lazy so I thought it was bad enough having my lazy self in the room then having one more person join me 😅

It's not that I drove her away from my room though, it just made me admire my other room mate even more with the way she did most of the work and didn't complain any day. It was like a habit for her as she never let the work load in the house become too much before she starts working.

Living with a hard working person opened my eyes to see that laziness is bad and I needed to change my ways. That virtue in her inspired me to do better but my other roommate never let all that get to her, she just enjoys not doing anything and eat whenever she wanted.

I can still remember how I easily forgive one but not the other even though everything wasn't so serious, we were good pals so we always try to forgive as quick as possible but I would always seem partial when it comes to my hardworking friend, you won't blame me lol.

Hard work is a virtue I admire and I think it pays other virtues, I hope more lazy people find the importance in being hardworking.

Hard work! That's a really good virtue and thee truth is it never came to mind. I'm happy to see you have plans on trying to be more hard working but if you ask me if say you are hard working but not in manual labor and I think that is different for every one so don't push yourself to hard if you are referring to being hardworking in that direction also.

Yeah, being strong physically doesn't really determine someone who is hard working, like I said, it's relative. You are hard working when it comes to other things so don't let this one bother you too much, just a little, hehe

You said you can be lazy 😂😂. Even you writing this post shows you're not lazy. It take alot of effort, thinking to do this
Anyways I feel everyone has this laziness part of them and this hardworking one.
Today I can wake up and want to do all the work in my house without disturbing my roommate. The other day am so tired and want to sleep and eat all day

I always have this feeling that I'm lazy even when my friends are commending my hardwork, now they don't believe me that I haven't read when we are starting our exam next month.
I just think our abilities differ, you might be hardworking in one aspect and others might not..

Very relatable.

I am not really a hardworking person neither am I a lazy person but I can easily get lazy and things pile up and I’ll regret not doing it on time and again I repeat, heheh.

There are a lot virtue that qualifies people but of course hard work is a great one

Being hardworking is a great human attribute and virtue which increases the rate of how productive and proactive a human can be.

But it depends on what your hard working attitude is focused on, it depends on an individual definition of work, would you consider a fraudster to be hardworking, they also believe they are engaging in hardwork.

It is really hard to say a person who is hardworking is capable of exhibiting other good qualities, I have seen a lot of factory workers and employees that are hardworking and yet still steal from their boss. I have seen lazy employees with who are honest.

It is hard to tell, from my perspective I don't think being hardworking guarantees all other virtues and I don't think I'm capable of forgiving someone based on the fact that they are hardworking only, it will take more than that😅

Lol a fraudster that's hard working? I didn't even imagine that, it's obviously a Virtue that's directed to the wrong side.

It will take more than that of course but that's a plus for me and I'm not the kind that finds it hard to forgive people, I love my peace of mind 😊

When it comes to roommate, I think i can relate, to clean the room is something she didn’t know to do. I use to wonder how her room will look like if she is living alone.
