African Parenting and Modern Rights, (a Jenz Generation)

This prompt got me laughing out loud when I read it, and my country ran through my mind. I can't imagine a kid suing her mom for compelling her to do house chores and so many other dramas. I doubt this would make sense to our African parents.

For African parents, the only way they believe they are instilling discipline is by scolding, beating, and punishing because they believe that would help shape the character of the child to become responsible in the future.

If an opportunity to sue parents is there, I'm sure an African child would be the first to do so, and I'm not an exception because I received different kinds of beating back then. This memory won't depart in a hurry. I remember when I was sent to buy pepper, already food was on fire, and I went to buy Maggi. My mum was angry, and that mistake left me kneeling for hours with my hands up. If such a privilege existed, I wouldn't mind suing her in court due to the punishment.

If the law allows children to sue their parents, it will really affect this Jenz generation of ours. The discipline parents try to instill in their children at an early stage would be lost, and they would have this fear in them because they want to avoid so many public displays and lots of unnecessary court visits.

There was an incident that occurred one time when one of my brothers wanted to attend a party and my mom hesitated he won't, and if he does, he should sleep there. He went against my mum's will and returned, thinking my mum would allow him in, but he was shocked when he stood outside till we locked the gate.

If children suing parents in court existed, my brother would have sued my mom for restricting him from his freedom of movement. Wherever my mum was only trying to protect him. I'm sure she wouldn't want him to drag him to court because of that, which would have made her allow him without even going too far to punish him for disobedience.

The truth remains that no matter how a child wants to sue his parents, there will always be a child and parents fighting. Personally, if this right existed, I would have sued my parents for a crime, mostly my mum. I remember during childhood when my mum would get freewill money people gave me and tell me she's keeping it for me, and when I ask for it, she tells me if I will pay her for the foods I have been eating, then she will give me my money. I doubt there would be a family bond if children are allowed to sue their parents.

Though parents can be strict but they do this simply because of the love they have for us, and they want the best for us. Back then, I saw those disciplines as hatred till I grew up. I realized everything they did back then was for my own good. It's difficult to convince kids to believe in what their parents are trying to instill in them because they have our interest at heart, but the childhood mentality won't allow kids to see the good in everything they are doing to make them good and responsible in the society.

Even when it is not allowed to sue parents Genz still feel like they own their lives and they can do whatever they want with it.
If such thing is now allowed here in Africa I am sure some parents will definitely regret giving birth to some children because they will be out of control.

if there exist such type of law, then you know that there will be X10 of cases in the law court and also, there will be children without parents.
Exactly, if such laws exist, then your brother would have probably sued your mom and then, your mom will be skeptical if she wants to decipline him next time.
