There are poor services in private hospitals
Hello everyone!
There's something very common among humans regarding how they rate the services they receive from organizations, whether public or private. The ones they are used to are often rated poorly, while the ones they haven't tried are considered the best. That is why you'll see people criticizing a particular bank because they are familiar with it, while others who have not used it much or at all will defend it. This is just a natural human tendency.
The same applies to how people rate the public and private sectors based on the services they receive. Although sometimes there's a little difference in this...
For someone like me, who has not been inclined toward private facilities and services, I always saw the private sector as the best service provider because they tend to be more customer-focused to retain their clients. However, looking at it more deeply, they are not as good as they seem. In many cases, public sector services are more reliable, affordable and stays longer, a typical example is the power sector. Although this sector don't get to be up and doing all the time, they've lasted for a while and very affordable compared to what people pay to private sectors.
I want to settle on the hospital rating which is clearly different from what people know or think.

I have not had many opportunities to patronize hospitals, whether private or government-owned. However, I have heard many things about how both operate regarding hospitality and pricing. The first and last time I took a dying soul to a private hospital, I vowed never to patronize private hospitals again. It was my first time, and maybe I did not know how to go about it, but the way I was treated was terrible. The staff and doctors were good, no doubt, but they were all after money and nothing more.
I took a man suffering from severe stomach pain to the hospital for a check-up to determine the cause of his pain and probably to get drugs for him. I stepped outside to make a phone call, and by the time I returned, the doctor had already admitted him and had fixed a drip and a blood transfusion.
"Who authorized this? I came for a check-up to know what the issue is before deciding on further treatment," I lamented in anger. But the doctor and staff acted as if I was talking to a ghost.
I told them to remove the drip and blood because I was not ready for that, and they sluggishly removed them, insisting that I must pay. I tried explaining that I had no money at the moment, but the doctor refused and insisted that I must settle the bill and you needed how the doctor was raising his voice at me... that he was trying to save a dying so bla bla bla.
Guess what? The person I took there was a staff member like me at the company where I worked. In the end, I had to borrow money to pay the charges. I was so angry that I demanded the blood and the drip and then burst them on the ground. The man just needed a little check-up and medication, not an unnecessary admission so the doctors could make more money.
I know not all private hospitals operate this way, but most of them are simply money-driven.
I think I prefer government hospitals. Although the staff there can be somewhat hostile and the queue there can be endless, if one can endure that, it is more affordable, and the charges are more reasonable. In many cases, government hospitals also provide free treatment.
Permit me to stop here.
Thanks for reading.
That's true
Yeah, very true 💯
This is soooo true. In private hospitals, money speak. The poor can hardly get access to health care unless they are aided by some rich person.
What the doctor did was not good. What if the patient was a Jehovah's Witness? And they commenced the blood for him.
The medical team forgot one important aspect of health care, which is carrying the patient relative along and understanding their financial capability before knowing how to commence treatment
This is another big point!
I hated his act. To be sincere, I rated the doctor that day as an hungry doctor.
The way these private hospitals hunt for money should be regulated abeg. It's so bad.
Thanks for stopping by bro
My dad always talk about the services of private hospitals. And you are right, they are solely profit driven than focused on the well-being of their patients. They could do a checkup on you and when they diagnose what's wrong with you, they administer truckloads of drugs that are really just performing the same function. Why? Because of the money.
It's so good to see people seeing what I'm seeing.
I wonder why people keep hyping these private hospitals 😎
Thanks for stopping by
You are welcome.✨
You are permitted ooo. This issue is now a cankerworm in Nigeria.
And the way people hype these private hospitals and don't consider how poor their services are especially when it comes to the monetary aspect.... It's well
Thanks for stopping by dear
It is well indeed bro
