Some lies are acceptably necessary

Greetings everyone!

At the stage the world is right now, I think we can all agree that lies, are sometimes necessarily told to maintain positivity depending on the situation. I mean, some lies are acceptably necessary, and when they're told from that angle, they are very understandable to people.

Lies have existed since the beginning of human existence, as recorded in religious books. It's a part of our lifestyle that no one can confidently say they have never lied before—not even a little. No, it's not possible.

I remember a particular day when a friend and I went out to preach the gospel to people. We met a group of elderly men enjoying their dry gin in the midst of laughter. When we started sharing messages with them, one of them interrupted and calmly asked us if we had ever lied before. We knew where he was heading—we knew he was about to turn the moment into an argument, and I dislike such situations very much whenever I go out for that kind of mission. We stylishly answered “yes,” with many “buts” following, and we left the scene to avoid further argument.

Some lies are very necessary and acceptable, but it depends on the weight of the truth that’s to be buried.

The simple ones:
Let’s say someone calls you to beg for money, and you actually have the money in your account, but you’re not willing to give it out due to certain reasons—maybe you want to use the money soon, or the person begging can’t be trusted to repay. And you can’t tell the person the truth because of the closeness and the relationship you share. At this point, a “No, I don’t have any money,” which is a lie, comes into play—and this is very acceptable. If you go ahead to explain yourself, you may end up prolonging the issue and getting a bad name in the end.

I know someone may say they can’t tell a lie in such a situation—they’ll go ahead and tell the person the truth and let them feel however they want. The truth is, whether we admit it or not, we’ve all told this kind of lie to save a situation.

This type is very clear. If such a situation is taken to a court of law, nothing will happen to the person who lied. So you see, lying is actually a crime, but this type isn’t.

When a deep truth is to be buried:
Imagine a situation where the son of a reputable religious leader is caught with human parts by a young boy. If found guilty in a court of law, the religious leader’s son will be sentenced to death. Now, they want the witness (the boy) to lie in court so that the religious leader’s son will be found not guilty. This is the worst side of lies, and it’s very rampant in our world today. This is the kind of lie that, no matter how it’s justified, has nothing good in it and is not acceptable!

Thanks for reading.

Sometimes, it is actually understandable when someone says a lie to protect another person of themselves from uncertainty

Yeah. It's acceptable if the act to be protected is not wickedly wicked 😅

Yes, telling lie to save situations that may in turn affect us is not bad, but any lie that will dastardly affects others should be avoided. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah. A lie that will put the other person in jail or to the grave is not worth it

We have all told lies to serve a particular situation. And lies have existed from the beginning and they will still be there.

Yeah.
As long as humans keep living, lies will keep living
