LIVING THE LIFE, LIVING THE DREAM
Life is very complex, one moment, and like I said in edition two of the hive learners week 176, life has taught me a number of lessons, one of the most important lessons is that growth is vital, it is important, so important that the moment you stop growing you start dying. You start dying not because you have contracted some life threatening disease, but because once you stop it is hard to continue. And if you can’t find a way to continue, there will come a time where you would encounter issues beyond your intellectuals, and if help does not come, it can kill you. It’s like the story of the dare wolf that leaves its park and becomes a lone wolf. The moment it perceives the saint of blood, it leaves whatever it was doing, perhaps it was even hunting a prey, the wolf leaves the prey, and begins to chase the saint of blood until it falls into the hunters trap. No park to help it, no skill to save it and it dies. That’s what happens to us when we lose focus and stop growing. But then again, at what point do we really stop growing?

Many think it is when you stop following your goals and dreams and decide you need a rest. Although, I am not going to lie, it could be a point of no return for some, especially those who do not really know what to do with life afterwards. But for those who know exactly what they want to do, rest is simply an avenue to shift focus to learn something refreshing. I have always promised myself such rest if I can be consistently good and productive at my goals for the next 10 years. I would take a year to rest and focus on other things. It will be an avenue to start planning my retirement when I go in for the second half of my goal journey. It will also give me time to access the last 10 years to see places I have missed and made mistakes, to work on my weaknesses and build on my strengths. But then there is one fact that remains constant, and that is the fact that not everyone has the luxury of making this decision.
For example, Athletes can not do this because during they are usually under contracts in their prime, and when they get to a certain age, usually around 35 to 40 years, they stop to do something else with their life because at that time, they are about to end a journey in their lives and begin a new one. Some of them often fail woefully in this next stage, especially those who decide to just go into coaching or something else. They become so irrelevant and only have experience with nothing new to give out. The 1 year break for some could be a long refreshing vacation with family and friends, for others, it could be a time to study and learn a professional course, for others it could be a time to learn that new skill they have always dreamed of learning. It’s just a matter of preference, but what matters most is that after that one year of doing and learning something totally irrelevant to what they do on a norm, they can have the momentum to continue and be better.
THIS IS MY RESPONSE TO HIVE LEARNER'S PROMPT FOR WEEK 176 EPISODE 3
HIVE POWER UP DAY
It’s the first of August and another Hive Power Up Day, I’m happy to have been able to increase my hive stake this month from about 800 last month to 1000 HP. For today I decided to power up with 10 Hive, taking my HP from 1011 to 1,021. I hope to reach greater heights as I continue in the Hive Power up day for the month of August. It’s not been easy, but it’s definitely been worth it.
