A TOKEN FOR A FORTUNE: risks of Gambling
Gambling has, without argument, enriched a few lucky ones, but what's that a success when you rob Paul, Andrew, and Mathew just to pay Paul? Leaving the majority as losers while giving a few some tiny winnings? At least I know there's a ministry, the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, probably institutionalized to promote and regulate lotteries, jackpots, and games of luck in Nigeria. Of course, ensuring tax is paid to the federal government must be one of the mandates of the organization, if I am not mistaken. This organization respects the interest of the majority who place bets with a token to get a fortune and attempts to regulate their income, tax, or maybe excesses. I believe beyond the unchecked emotions (such as compulsive disorders, greed, etc.) and desire to keep gambling, in addition to the scourging and ailing financial crises.
I know life cannot be fair to all but, the huge discrepancy and disparities in wealth distribution is significantly unfair. Dare I say that more people are being tricked or lured into worsening financial crises as a result of gambling? Money that could be channeled into feeding, tuition for the kids, or even in a legitimate investment is being put into a high-risk venture with likely unpleasant dire consequences, of which some can be life-threatening, such as suicidal tendencies.
Thus, without prejudice, bias, or disenfranchisement, I would readily agree that gambling should be made illegal, as the ills of the majority far exceed the gains by a minority, often based on probability or luck.
Thank you for reading. I would love to have your comments and contributions.
Gamblers believe they can still win whenever they lose. This is why people lost their hard earnings on gambling.
It is difficult to turn a new leaf when it comes to gambling, but with a deep mind, one can get out of it.
Gambling is addictive, either from wins or losses
Gambling starts little by little then people get addicted, but my question is how they get addicted to something that causes them so much pain..
Let's put it this way
Hope is a bastard
Hope keeps pushing us forward even when we are weak. Hope defies logical reasoning and what makes it positive or negative may lie in the risk of the situation being hoped upon.
They hope to win someday or get motivated when they hear or see the testimony of others. Unfortunately, they believe the higher the stakes, the higher the gains.
A critical aspect is the part of emotions. Many people do not have emotions in check. If you are a crypto trader, you will understand the discrepancy and huge gap between emotions and sticking with planned tactics.
Emotions are likely to cost us more mistakes than those tactics we earmarked.
Similarly, in gambling, emotion is a dangerous tool to continuing gambling
Gambling is not a good thing. It most times puts people's lives at risk.
You're correct, gambling predisposes victims to life threatening dangers
That urge they feel is where the problem is. Its an addicting behavior just like drug. A constant push.
And many of these gamblers has seen how others loss, but still persist. This is why I believe that making it illegal should come with penalty.
The addiction is unusually strange. Doing away with it would make the society a better place
Honestly unusually strange. If only the government will take this serious.
I have so much to say on this subject but if I'm to start now, we wouldn't round it up on time.
Meanwhile, I think you've done justice to the subject matter.
Thank you darling. How are you?
I'm doing great and you? It's been quite a while.
I'm doing well. thank you
