THE COST OF CURIOSITY
The first time of reading this week’s hivelearners topics for the first edition I was a bit lost for some minutes until I finally understood the question and the reason why anyone would want to hear our thoughts on such a topic. The topic is “In Space Or On Earth? We are asked to discuss whether or not it is important that the government is spending so much on space exploration and deep-sea research rather than focusing on other important projects that concerns earth and those that live in it. At first I wanted to just say they should focus on its citizens but…
First of all, let us establish the fact that we will need a miracle (God’s intervention) for our government or those involved in these explorations and researches to ever stop especially for the fact that they have come too far now to stop. Most times, it’s hard to understand the mind behind some researches that are being conducted by people until they have gotten what they are looking for or something close enough. If you are not part of those researches sometimes, it’s really hard to appreciate it or even see any tangible reason why that research should even be done in the first place.
Also, humans are inquisitive about a lot of things because the one that has made them has given them that capacity and capability to be. Sometimes when I’m being taught about the neurology of man, it’s just so ambiguous because it is. So it’s only normal that due to how the brain is made to function, we are most times thinking beyond what we can see and we always want to know the why, what, when and how of things. Space exploration is something that might have a long term benefit on Earth and maybe that is why they keep spending so much on it and the same goes with deep sea researches too. According to research, we are made to understand that the earth has more areas covered by water than land and it is actually natural for man to want to explore to find out why it is so, it’s benefits and more.
With all that being said, I’ll like to say that knowing that these researches are already working on these projects, it will be hard to turn back the hand of time especially for the fact that these things are not against Earth in anyway. The major problem with it is that it is cost effective. The other problems are a bit minor because those who work on these researches are people who have chosen to do it because not just anyone can do it. Although I can never really tell if these people doing these researches have the general well being of everyone at heart or it’s just for their personal interests but I’m hoping it is more for the interest of everyone and that is why the government is even investing so much in it in the first place.
Let’s also not make it sound like the government has completely ignored other aspects of life that they need to focus on. They are still trying their best, at least they have given everyone the opportunity to contribute their part as much as they can. I don’t also know if space exploration is the future or deep sea but I know that humans can only survive better on Earth and that’s why the creator kept them here in the first place but it is fine if some people wants to explore more as long as they don’t try to tamper with God’s creation and God’s plan.
Besides our taxes that we pay, that doesn’t stop us as citizens to do the little we can to assist the government when we are in the position to do that. If the government are spending on those things that to many it doesn’t make sense, it doesn’t stop others to take it upon themselves to help. Hopefully with time the government will understand that they should focus more on the things the people need rather than focusing more on those other things. My point is, as long as the government has not completely neglected their responsibilities towards the citizens, we should keep playing our parts and hope for the best.
Space exploration and deep-see seems like good projects, the only problem is the fact that the government is spending too much on it and I believe that’s something that can be solved if everyone is playing their parts well. We should be happy that we can at least see something they are using the money for and just keep looking for other ways we can contribute to our beloved Earth.
Thanks for reading through. ❤️

The government needs to do something for the survival of humans on Earth, in addition to space projects and deep-sea projects. Those projects are good and should be implemented, but first of all, it is very important to focus on earth 🌎 and meet the basic needs of humans.
It would have been easier if they had completely ignored the needs of their citizens but it isn’t so.
This system is teaching everyone to know how to be independent and not dependent. The government are doing what they think it’s best and we can do little of nothing to make them change.
You are right. I also believe that all these research is still for our own benefits, though a lot of money is been spent there while people are dying of hunger.
Thanks for sharing
This is teaching people how to fend for themselves. Most people have began to be more independent than before.
It’s a pleasure sharing, mama. Thanks for stopping by. 🥰
Thank you. 🥰
