It Hurts To Break Know I Was In This Shoe

It is so easy to give people our words, but most times it is very difficult to keep them, especially when it is a promise that seems to be so demanding. Many things propel people to make promises, one of which is when a man is under duress. This means when a man is in a situation that if he should say no to a demand, his life will go in for it, and so the easiest part out in that situation is to give his word. Many people in this situation go further to legally report what transpired.

For a person who keeps daily, we make promises that we may not be able to achieve just to make sure our kids do one thing or the other. Kids are easily won over with promises, so we find ourselves doing it on a daily basis.

This is promotion term, so many parents who expect their kids to come home with gifts have already started making promises, both the ones we can keep and the ones we can't keep. I am not left out in this; my daughter, almost on a daily basis, will tell me that, Mom, I have already come first... Hahahaha, my son will echo me too. I am just observing them all. My husband and I have made heavy promises for anyone who will come first in class or come home with a strong "A" average because most times we don't lay emphasis on the position.I am one person who dislikes making empty promises, but I remember one of the promises I made that I never fulfilled, not because I never wanted to but because I totally forgot about it.Shortly before I graduated from the university, a friend of mine asked me out. The way and manner in which he used to approach me was so irritating to me. First it was over the phone, and he was sounding so proud.

Personally, I don't like associating with such people, though he is somehow my kind of person. So I told my immediate elder brother about my chat with this young man; he said I should forget about him, that he is not serious. So I told him, Let me pray about it.After about four years, as I sent him my wedding card, he told me that she told him to give me some time to pray about the whole thing. I told him I seriously forgot about our discussion, and that was the truth. When he mentioned that I told him to give me some time to pray, I went through my chat with him and saw that I was at fault. I felt so bad and ashamed of myself. I couldn't do otherwise because, first, my wedding date had been fixed already, and second, I don't love him.

I just encouraged him to be humble when approaching ladies, and when someone gives him such a response, he should always check back, not keep quiet for that long.At the moment I can't remember a promise that was made to me and was broken. Well, to me a promise that is made and not kept can be justified if the party making the promise is demanding something that is too hard to meet. For instance, when a person is given a blank check and he is asking for something that one can't afford or needs a life to go.

It is so important not to be carried away with much excitement or make promises when we are in so much joy, drunk, or sad. Being in a fully sane state is a good condition to be in before we make a promise.Thank you for visiting my blog today on this first edition of this week's contest.
