Why do we still pay for the sins of our government.

I hate conflicts. For me, if the world just extinguished all the greed and war from humanity, it would be wonderful. But humans are ridiculous on that, and they use multiple forms to subjugate other humans, such as religion and power. And governments are proof of that. It is so common to find citizens unhappy with their government, and many times in some countries, they aren't even elected democratically. Most of the people that I talk to from different countries, if they could, they would replace their governments, but it is difficult for them, or even for the group of people that is difficult to form a majority, and even if they have a majority, there is the problem of facing power. So why do we still pay for the sins of our government?

Recently, here in Albert, we faced an interesting approach made by popular initiative. The government is taking so many authoritarian decisions that don't represent the majority of the people, and many election zones are recalling members of parliament that are supporting these decisions. We had an unfair decision for the public teachers that made them go back to work, even without the closure of all the improvements that the class was asking. But still we are far from replacing our government here, but Canada still has a good open door to democracy and there is a light in the end of the tunnel.

In countries where democracy isn't so strong, like places that have suffered with military coups or theocratic leaderships, people have fewer chances to have some power. So in the case of Iran, for example. The country finances terrorism and raises the anger of so many Western countries. So all Iranians should suffer in case of a military action? Many people of that country oppose the current leadership and they are willing to see another government, but they will also suffer in case of any military action.

War is always sad and unfair. And I am lucky that probably, my country won't be invaded anytime soon. It is sad that innocent people pay for their government's decision, but many times there aren't other ways. Also wars mostly won't bring a permanent solution, like we saw in Afghanistan and Iraq, and Syria. Leaders change, but old problems in the country are difficult to change. And that happens as well in democratic countries where corruption is very popular, like Brazil, the country where I was born.

Population suffers always in the hands of governments, but still decisions against the country are sad, usually, since other countries also have the right to defend themselves and protect their citizens. Exept if the decisions against countries are a bit unfair, like the tax battle created by the US. That is a type of decision that only brings unfairness to all sides, including its own country.

Eu detesto conflitos.

A guerra é sempre triste e injusta.

The world will be a better place without war and greed, but it is painful to see that this will be difficult to achieve. My country is a mockery of democracy. Right at this moment, our doctors in the country are on strike because the government does not cater well for them. They do things that are beneficial to themselves, neglecting those that affect the greater population.

Last night, I watched this Netflix movie, Gangs of New York. I am not sure if there is a historical basis for producing this movie or if this is mainly fictional. Nevertheless, the dominant theme is politics, where those who rule are willing to sacrifice the lives of many to maintain power.

This movie is awesome i watched a long time ago!! I think it is based in areal story .. i need to re-watch though. Anyways, all human history you have this type of fight power , it isn’t new and it will continue for sure in the future.

If the movie has a historical basis, that's a huge gap between the New York of today and the New York of the past. Most people see only the New York of today, not knowing the countless lives that have been sacrificed for NY to evolve to its current status.

Look at UK, they are turning into dictatorship, people getting arrested for posting a meme!

Humans have greedy for nature and many other bad instincts, the only solution would be to edit new born humans and remove evil traits or, like I hope, an ai will take over and ends all wars, erase religions and finally brings peace

Our leaders are corrupt too and we suffer a lot too because of it. We have a democratic system here but now it's not working properly as everything is possible, they change results and sell votes..... And we being a nation can't do anything 😕

Yeah, exactly war won't bring peace nether provide a long lasting solution. To say this that power is not just being authoritative and control, but as well as restrain and to tame.
