Here we have some shitty days, litteraly.

  Southern Alberta is an interesting place. Since I came to Canada I got rid of the bad air pollution that used to come especially during the colder days of winter. My nose especially used to suffer a lot, many problems with allergies which led me almost to get addicted to corticosteroids, the only thing that used to help me. Since 2017, I got rid of it when I moved to Canada, so there are no more frequent allergy problems. However, human interaction with the environment always brings some problems.

  Here in Southern Alberta I found a place where we find 330 days of sunny days on average per year, which motivated me to install solar panels at my place. The air is pure, there aren't many cars and factories in town. But wait, sometimes it stinks! It is usually the first thing that people from other places notice. When they get one stinky day in town.

  The town is surrounded by farms, so depending of the wind and if a big farm is doing fertilization, the bad smell of ammonia comes to town. For sure it doesn't happen every day, probably I wouldn't live with that. But I would say that at least once or twice a month it happens. It doesn't matter if it is summer or winter we have this bad smelly day. At least the smell doesn't enter our homes.

  During the summer we go to a lake to swim in a Provincial Park 15 minutes drive out of town and when we pass through these farms the smell is really strong and that makes it difficult to breathe, so we need to close the windows for sure. But in town, the smell is there but we still can live with it.

  Maybe the other pollution problem that we have is some trash in the ground after a windy day. I posted once how winds can be strong in here, 2 weeks ago we had winds up to 100 km/h. And we have big trash bins outside of our houses that can fall down to the floor with these winds. I am a person who hates littering. But during windy days when I need to put trash in these big trash bins is normal to lose paper to the wind, and it doesn't matter how fast we run it just fly away. I feel bad but there isn't much to do.

  In general we live in a very nice city with minimum pollution and green parks which get nicer during the summer with all green. Great places to ride a bicycle in security and check out animals and trees. But the smelly days and windy days that bring some trash to our roads could be excluded from my life if I could. For sure I would say that it is better than living in a big city where my nose is punished for the whole eternity.

  O sul de Alberta é um lugar interessante. Desde que vim para o Canadá, me livrei da poluição do ar ruim que costumava vir especialmente durante os dias mais frios do inverno. Meu nariz, especialmente, costumava sofrer muito, muitos problemas com alergias que me levaram quase a ficar viciado em corticoides, a única coisa que costumava me ajudar. Desde 2017, me livrei dele quando me mudei para o Canadá, então não há mais problemas frequentes de alergia. No entanto, a interação humana com o meio ambiente sempre traz alguns problemas.

  Aqui no sul de Alberta, encontrei um lugar onde temos 330 dias de sol em média por ano, o que me motivou a instalar painéis solares em minha casa. O ar é puro, não há muitos carros e fábricas na cidade. Mas espere, às vezes fede! Geralmente é a primeira coisa que as pessoas de outros lugares notam. Quando eles têm um dia fedorento na cidade.

  A cidade é cercada por fazendas, então dependendo do vento e se uma grande fazenda está fazendo fertilização, o mau cheiro de amônia chega à cidade. Claro que não acontece todo dia, provavelmente eu não viveria com isso. Mas eu diria que pelo menos uma ou duas vezes por mês acontece. Não importa se é verão ou inverno, temos esse dia fedorento. Pelo menos o cheiro não entra em nossas casas.

  Durante o verão, vamos a um lago para nadar em um Parque Provincial a 15 minutos de carro da cidade e quando passamos por essas fazendas o cheiro é muito forte e isso dificulta a respiração, então precisamos fechar as janelas com certeza. Mas na cidade, o cheiro está lá, mas ainda podemos viver com ele.

  Talvez o outro problema de poluição que temos seja algum lixo no solo após um dia ventoso. Postei uma vez como os ventos podem ser fortes aqui, 2 semanas atrás tivemos ventos de até 100 km/h. E temos grandes latas de lixo do lado de fora de nossas casas que podem cair no chão com esses ventos. Eu sou uma pessoa que odeia jogar lixo. Mas durante os dias de vento, quando preciso colocar o lixo nessas grandes latas de lixo, é normal perder papel com o vento, e não importa o quão rápido corremos, ele simplesmente voa para longe. Sinto-me mal, mas não há muito o que fazer.

  Em geral, vivemos em uma cidade muito agradável com poluição mínima e parques verdes que ficam mais agradáveis ​​durante o verão com tudo verde. Ótimos lugares para andar de bicicleta com segurança e observar animais e árvores. Mas os dias fedorentos e ventosos que trazem algum lixo para nossas estradas poderiam ser excluídos da minha vida se eu pudesse. Com certeza eu diria que é melhor do que viver em uma cidade grande onde meu nariz é punido por toda a eternidade.
