Beyond The Comfort Zone

Life itself is all about taking risks, whether knowingly or unknowingly, and sometimes we can't help but take these risky decisions, hoping for a better outcome, even though we know that there is an equal chance of it going south. The truth is that for most of us to make that big break we aspire to, risk must be involved, and how far are you willing to take the risk?

My mum always told me the story of a very wretched man in her village who didn't want to take the risk of working because he would always assume that so many bad things would happen to him outside when he leaves the comfort of his home, so he would rather chose to remain indoor, and beg for food or eat from the bin. Obviously, this seems like a mental case. The fear of taking risks has kept so many people in their comfort zone for too long and, in turn, makes them lazy, as they have accepted the fate of their current state and are comfortable going round in circles.

Rationally, not all risks are worth taking. The reason why we need to critically assess the situation and even though we lose out, we should have a plan B of how to get back up. Look at so many important people in today's society, they wouldn't have become who they are today if they hadn't taken the bold step.

I have had to take so many risks at different stages of my life, while some were worth it, there were others that left me in regret, still I keep pushing and hoping that better opportunities come up.

I remember when a close friend of mine reached out to me about wanting to invest some huge amount she made from a gig, and at that same period someone came with an opportunity for us to buy some imported goods that we didn't even have a customer base for yet, and not sure if people would like the product, ai felt the cost of buying was fair, as it would be easily sellable with profits of our investment, but my friend refused to take the risk for the fear of not being a business person, even though she had a bigger capital to invest compared to mine. I wasn't a business person either, but I took the risk and amazingly I sold all less than the time I had imagined and made a quick profit, which had me wishing I had enough money to invest at that time because it was a one-time opportunity.

Guess what happened to my friend's capital? She eventually spent all on expenses due to unforeseen circumstances and regretted not investing it, because she would have made double of that same amount if she had.

In conclusion, life is full of risks, and sometimes, it's necessary to take bold steps to achieve our goals. By assessing situations critically, having backup plans, and learning from our experiences, we can navigate uncertainty and potentially achieve success. Just make sure to take risks that would not totally drain you, because risk is risk; it can either go wrong or right.

we take risks far a better outcome, just as you likely said. Taking risks can bring out the best in you, as it is the best we can do.
yes, not all risks can be taken, as they can come out pouring you to the last level. as a businessman or woman, you need the risk-taking path to be successful.
