ᴍʏ ᴘʀᴇᴘᴀʀᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ғᴏʀ ᴛʜɪs ʏᴇᴀʀ ʜᴏʟɪᴅᴀʏ || ʙᴜsɪɴᴇss ᴀs ᴜsᴜᴀʟ.

It is that time of the year again when everyone puts their affairs in order in preparation for the holidays. it feels like yesterday when the year began, it is finally coming to an end again. this year feels like a diamond rush for me to an extent I could say I wasn't aware it was running out but here we are. I had somethings in mind for this year holiday, I had some sort of imagination about where and how I intend to spend the holiday. Life happens, the year ran out become I could think of putting my plans into action, probably because it took me too long to start doing somethings, I kept on believing I still have time to sort things out

if somethings had worked out the way I envisioned, my plans would not be in shambles but despite all the unforseen circumstances that occurred this year, it might have hindered my plans in some ways but not enough to stop it from happening. I and my family are not the traveling type, the last time we traveled for the holidays was when my late maternal grandma was still with us. occasionally we travel to her village to spend the holidays with her but ever since she passed our location for celebration has remained the the same, which is Lagos where my parent reside. I wouldn't want it any other way, due to the fact that we barely travel for Christmas/ new year celebrations, the idea of traveling has become a source of discomfort for me. I have become some sort of home boy, I wouldn't say I am suffering Hodophobia, since traveling is not something I'm used to.

It is quite obvious that traveling is out of the picture, for this holiday I will be sticking with my family as usual. it has been that way for years and I still prefer it that way. holiday period is one of the only period my family gather in one place, so it is highly cherished. Having that in mind there are a lot of things I'm looking forward to apart from the family gathering that I cherish so much, during holidays our house is usually filled with a lot of good stuff I could stuff down my throat😅. that alone is a source of joy for me, nothing gives me joy like having a filled belly😂.

There are some added benefits to this festivity, my aunt retired last month, so she decided to travel down to Lagos from Abuja, with her kids and husband to celebrate are retirement with us. They will be staying with us till new year, knowing the kind of person she is, when you talk of master event planner. She is not the type of person that enjoys low-key celebration 😅. the last time I saw her was few months ago when she came to celebrate Sallah with us.

We have this family WhatsApp group that is specifically dedicated for planning family events, different roles that will be played as been shared to each member of the group, though a large amount of the responsibility falls on my shoulder due to the fact that I'm the one currently at home at this moment. which means I'm going to be very occupied in few weeks from now, well as the master planner of this year festivity it does has its advantages because being in charge of purchasing most of the items that will be used for this year holiday means I will be privileged to get somethings for myself without spending a dime out of my savings. it is something I'm really happy about at least that is enough to elevate my spirit.
