Sexual immorality implies behaviour contrary to the accepted moral code, which may differ according to the society and the group of people concerned. Sexual immorality may therefore include any sexual deviation as well as 'deviant' marriage patterns and violence. It also includes prostitution.

Crime has been in existence since the time of creation, the degree and rate at which it occurs have just metamorphosed over the years. As humans develop in infrastructure, culture, so does their element of destruction and abnormalities increases.

At some point we consider some crimes to be impossible and unnatural but this crimes are becoming very common and rampant these days, we could blame civilisation but at the end I realise this are just humans ability to create chaos in the social system. before the COVID 19 pandemic occurred, they were some kind crimes committed, that I know of but immediately the pandemic came especially during the lockdown it seems it brought out the worst in people.It is quite sad when I think of it and the rate it is going out of control is alarming, even the government is unable to keep it under control.

I once witnessed a rape incident during my stay in Adeniyi Jones, lagos state, during the COVID 19. apparently a girl around the age of 17 was hawking bread around the neighbourhood in the afternoon, not quite sure how she ended up in the wrong place but these criminals stole her bread and raped her so brutally that she couldn't make it to the hospital before her life was lost. we felt sorry for the victim but people blamed her mum, the authorities and probably the lockdown for the incident but until date no one knew if those criminals were brought to justice.

The crime rate rose so high that, it became a joke. I hear of people going to ATM machines with cutlass to scare away petty thieves from robbing them of their belongings. eventually the whole COVID 19 pandemic became a thing of the past but the crimes are yet stop occuring. though I moved back to my parent house in a remote area in ikorodu, lagos state, there are less crimes committed around here because it is a new site with less people.

the most rampant crimes around here these days is rape but not the usual type of rape, this involves sexual violation of children, especially little girls. it started little at first but now every week we here of new stories about full grown men around the age 30 or 40 raping a girl child within the age of 6 to 12, now I'm wondering, is this some kind of abnormalities of this new generation or just pure madness because what pleasure is there to derive in sexually violating children.

Due to this abnormal crimes, parents were forced to increase their surveillance around their children especially the girls to make sure they know of their movement and whereabouts, other kind of crimes occur but in my neighbourhood rape is just the most rampant crimes committed on a daily basis. I have to drive my sister back and forth to school, it is exhausting but it is the only way I can keep her safe and make sure she doesn't become a victim of this absurd crimes.

Everyone has become more vigilant, we are unable to really understand the reason behind this rape patterns, some say it is a new method ritualist make use of, while others say it is as a result of indiscipline in the society. You dare not send your children out on errands in the evening especially around 7:00pm, so we keep the children occupied in the house while we the adult perform other chores outside.

Maybe to an extent, some of us still have our freedom to move around the neighbourhood as we want but this freedom is not enjoyed by all, even for an adult you still have to careful walking around especially during late hours, you wouldn't want to put yourself at risk of petty theft and robbers, so currently everyone is wary of each other, you don't know who is who, so it is best to stay away from strangers and even friends sometimes 😅. we all hope this will become a thing of the past, maybe in the nearest future this kind of crimes will become less rampant.
