Education Is For Both Genders: No Law, No Restrictions

Formal education is one of the biggest things that has happened to man kind, I consider it a blessing because it's coming has brought so much light and transformation to our society.

Through education harmony and peaceful coexistence has been achieved, people understand both their rights and that of others and how not to cross boundaries.

Throughout education, people have gotten access to opportunities that has become a source of livelihood for them.

We also learned critical thinking, how to solve problem and so many other things that has shaped our lives for good in school.

It's disheartening to hear that in some places, women are not allowed to enjoy this privilege to the fullest.

Some years back, while I was coming up, I used to hear some people say women do not need to push education far. Highest when they are done with secondary and probably first degree it is enough.

Some of them believe that once the woman is more educated than the man, she might disrespect him and probably look down on him. What a crazy mindset.

However, at a point I cease to hear that around and I think it's good, probably understanding has finally reached their hearts.

In my place, everyone regardless of gender is entitled to be educated and take it to any extent he or she wants provided they have the resources.

I have never by chance seen any gender prevented from going to school or forbidden from going further because of their gender.

Down here, when it comes to education, the law doesn't forbid it, I know it is possible for some families to set such laws. Some husbands do that to their wives and female children but on a general note, there is no law like that.

Education is for everyone, and anyone can go as far as they desire. The only limitation most times is finance and personal decisions, but gender is never a barrier to education.

I don't know for other places though, but if by chance it is happening out there, then I think, the gender that is being restricted is being marginalized.

Come on, It's a blessing to be educated, the advantages are enormous. Most of the transformation we see in the society today can be attributed to education.

It is such a right that everyone should enjoy, whether male or female. I feel, if the society prevents certain gender from pushing education further, it is doing it's self harm because that gender that is been kept from knowledge would wallow in ignorance and it is the society that will suffer the consequences.

How Is The Rate Of Boys To Girls Going School In My Place?

I would say it's almost 50/50. In some schools, girls are even more than boys due to how parents are so interested in seeing their girls educated.

The rate is same, and if by chance it is more of boys than girls, then I assure you, it is due to financial constraints or personal decisions but it has nothing to do with law.

I know of a woman whose daughter got married having just National certificate In Education (NCE) the husband was not financially stable, the mother took the responsibility and compelled the lady to further her education, currently, she's done with her first degree.

You see how free education is down here for both genders, right? Gone are the days when people think school is just for men. Nowadays, school is for all genders, the the limitations are finance or personal decisions.
