The Journey That Lies Beyond Retirement

If anybody had asked me like eight years ago what my retirement plan was after so many years of hustling and bursting my behind to enjoy the sweet side of life, my response would have been "owning a fully furnished home in the outskirts of town away from a populated settlement so I can enjoy nature in all it's fullest". Back then I viewed money as a problem and never really cared much about it. As long as I was able to cater for the needs of my family, being rich or wealthy was the least thing on my agenda. Coming face to face with this kind prompt after so many years, there's bound to be changes from what I yearned for back then.

Nobody plans on working for the entirety of their lifespan on earth. One of the major reasons a lot of people even dedicate themselves towards their job, business or craft is so that they can have something to fall back to when they are finally at that phase of retirement. Acknowledging that it is impossible to work forever, I too have a plan of what I intend to do once I retire. Previously it was living the slow life away from the noise of the crowd but after years of exposure to what the real world looks like, I want to ride through the storm like a rockstar. Everything I intend to enjoy during my retirement, the numerous trips and vacations i envision, adventures to be had, can only be made possible if I make it big FINANCIALLY.

Growing up in the kind of neighborhood I did, one thing I realized was that people never had a retirement plan or even retired entirely from working. It was either they worked till they eventually died from over-tasking, retire from their job just to directly focus on their business, just keep drifting around or eventually leave for greener pastures when the opportunity comes but one thing for certain though, as long as they still stick around They still kept on working. Not me though I intend to break this cycle for a change, I don't plan to continue with the lifestyle the previous generation had so retire I must.

All my life, everything I ever did is primarily for someone else. As a young adult the primary purpose of all my hustle is to assist my parents and my family. When I finally get married with kids, everything I do will also be for them that's why I intend to take this retirement plan seriously because it is the only thing entirely acquired for me. Before retiring I intend to hand over my business to the right people with enough money tucked away to fund my retirement lifestyle of travelling and enjoying the things I never got the chance to while I was still a workaholic.... Thank you

Yeah, You're right
We grew up with people around us not having a retirement plan and even overworking till they lose their lives.

I used to think like you too. I didn't care much about money but honestly, if you want a good retirement, you need to work hard and prioritize having funds

Exactly bro nobody should have this kind of mindset or even work without a plan for old age. Having money work for you should be the best response to anything

Well, just Like you mentioned, you can change the story by doing the needful now, though it's not going to be easy, but it will all worth it in the long run.
