Zoos And Animal Ethics: Why Freedom Should Not Be Cagged?

Hello Hive Learners Community! Welcome to my blog. Animals are our social friends, we have a close connection with them in the Evolutionary Tree. We can find two types of Animals in our surroundings, they can be wild or can be pets. Untrained and Untamed Animals can be classified as Wild Animals. They are the most dangerous and can't easily survive in human communities, due to excessive Hunting by Predators and severe changes in the Environment, their extinction from this planet started. To save animal species from hunting and severe weather changes in a region, zoos were constructed. Moreover, zoos can be a source of human recreation and joy.

Zoos And Animal Rights

Zoos are designed to protect national animals in an artificial environment. This artificial environment can't be the same as the wild animals. When wild animals or exotic breeds are placed in zoos, they are trained to adapt to this artificial environment. Nowadays, zoos are only a source of human recreation. They are not preserving animals according to their environment. 1st I'm in favour of their upgradation. Secondly, I'm a supporter of animal rights.

If we keep animal rights in mind, then we can't enclose a wild species in a cage or an artificial environment. Their nature is wild and it should be respected. Many Animal Welfare Organisations condemn keeping animals in zoos or the manipulation of animals for human recreation.

I appreciate the role of WWF in some countries where it is working strongly for the wild animals. We lost many animals while training them for artificial environment because wild animals are wild by nature, they can't be easily adopted in artificial environment. Moreover, if we tamed them for zoos they forget about their wild characters.

My Opinion About Zoos:

Being a Nature Lover, I'm against the zoos. Although they are designed for Animal Welfare where animals can better be looked after and treatment but their manipulation for human recreation can be dangerous. We should provide freedom to the animals. When we cagged them, we are snatching their freedom. As we can't provide wild environment fully in a zoo then their animal enclosure is not justified. We should make animal Treatment Camps according to WWF rules in Jungles where the freedom of Animals is respected. For Animal Welfare, we should make laws that stopped wild animal hunting and punished people who are busy in animal manipulation. Protection of Forrest is Protection of Animals that should be cared at any rate.

Final Thoughts

The exhibition of Animals in Zoos looked awkward especially when kids provide them candies or Biscuits while their native food is meat. For example, cats and lions like to take fresh meat while many families through candies and biscuits that are engulfed mistakenly by these animals. These things affect their digestive system causing many deadly problems. Similarly some Safari Zoos have direct interaction of Animals with humans where animals are kicked or punished by people. These sorts of behaviours should be condemned and discouraged. After watching these things and many other factors, I'm strongly against keeping wild animals in zoos. We have better options of animal treatment camps in the Forrest instead of making zoos.

Damn starting to rethink the whole zoo idea entirely, maybe it's not such a good thing afterall. However there are some benefits that comes with zoos both to the humans and the animals alike

When we cagged them, we are snatching their freedom.

Not only that. Their natural instincts gets dulled the longer they rely on humans for their needs until they can no longer hunt for their own food and get back to the wild.

Almost all these that has advantages also have disadvantages. To me having zoo isn't a bad idea at all

Yeeey, thank you for sharing! 😍 But...
... awwww, the submission deadline was yesterday. 😞 Also, I'm really no fan of discord, and since participation there is mandatory, I think I'd rather just miss out. Sorry. (I mean, we have this great blockchain based social media, it even has a feature that is pretty much a discord clone, so why wouldn't we just rather ... never mind.)

Anyway, even though I won't participate in the contest, I appreciate the link!
