Iguana
The iguana is a reptile widely known for its dorsal crest, scaly skin, and long tail, and is mostly herbivorous. They inhabit the tropical areas of the American continent, and some species, such as the green iguana, are arboreal and excellent swimmers, capable of climbing trees with great speed and ease.
In areas of the city with lots of vegetation, such as parks or gardens of homes or buildings, it is very common to find iguanas, some of them large, walking on the grass or climbing trees.
For some time, I had wanted to photograph them, but every time I approached, they immediately fled, even though I had no intention of harming them.
Yesterday afternoon, I found this huge specimen resting on a tree trunk, and apparently, my presence did not seem to bother it, so I took the opportunity to take some photos before nightfall.
As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.
Iguana
La iguana es un reptil ampliamente conocido por su cresta dorsal, piel escamosa y larga cola, siendo mayoritariamente herbívoros. Habitan en las zonas tropicales del continente americano, y algunas especies, como la iguana verde, son arborícolas y excelentes nadadoras, capaces de trepar árboles con gran rapidez y facilidad.
En aquellas zonas de la ciudad que cuentan con mucha vegetación, como es el caso de los parques o los jardines de viviendas o edificaciones, es muy común encontrar iguanas, algunas de gran tamaño, que suelen caminar en la grama o subir a los árboles.
Desde hace algún tiempo, quería fotografiarlas, sin embargo, cada vez que me acercaba, huían de forma inmediata aún cuando yo no tenía ninguna intención de hacerles daño.
Ayer en la tarde, encontré este enorme ejemplar descansando en el tronco de un árbol, y al parecer, mi presencia no parecía molestarle por lo que aproveché de tomarle algunas fotos antes del anochecer.
Como he descrito en posts anteriores, las fotografías originales las proceso haciendo uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed.
