PhotoFeed Contest - Portrait Photography Round 154: Promises [ENG/ESP]

Promises
Like other great manifestations of faith, during the procession of the Divina Pastora (Divine Shepherdess) every January 14, thousands of people perform some kind of penance in order to fulfill a promise made to God through the intercession of the Virgin.
On that day, it is common to see people walking barefoot through the streets of the city, while many women and girls dress in the attire of a shepherdess who tends her flock of sheep, all to fulfill a promise made at a time of great difficulty, which fortunately has now been overcome.
On this occasion, I had the opportunity to meet this parishioner, who, with a wooden cross and wearing purple robes like The Nazarene (Jesus), accompanied the procession on its long journey to the city's cathedral, as millions of people do every year.
As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.
Promesas
Al igual que otras grandes manifestaciones de fe, durante la procesión de la Divina Pastora cada 14 de Enero, miles de personas cumplen algún tipo de penitencia con el fin de pagar alguna promesa realizada a Dios, mediante la interseción de la Virgen.
Ese día es común observar personas caminar descalzas por las calles de la ciudad, mientras muchas mujeres y niñas visten con los atuendos propias de una pastora, quien cuida de su rebaño de ovejas, todo esto para cumplir con lo prometido en algún momento de gran dificultad, afortunadamente ya superado.
En esta ocasión, tuve la oportunidad de encontrarme con este feligrés, quien con una cruz de madera y vistiendo túnicas púrpuras como El Nazareno, acompañaba la procesión en su largo recorrido hasta la Catedral de la ciudad, como millones de personas solemos hacerlo cada año.
Como he descrito en posts anteriores, las fotografías originales las proceso haciendo uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed.

El 17 de diciembre en Cuba miles de cubanos caminan kilómetros y kilómetros hasta el Rincón, una iglesia, porque ese dia cumplen y hacen promesas a San Lázaro. Es uno de los movimientos religiosos mas grande de nuestro país. Y emocionante también. Tu publicación me trajo el recuerdo de hace años cuando estudiaba en La Habana y ese dia no habia ni transporte público porque todo era destinado para mover a las personas a ese lugar. Saludos.
