📸 PhotoFeed Contest - Street Photography #137 : From Mandalay to Bagan, Myanmar
Mandalay is located almost in the centre of Myanmar. It’s one of the largest cities in the country. Once it was the capital. Further south you will find the ancient city of Bagan. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the period between the 9th to the 13th centuries this city was the capital of what was known as the Pagan Kingdom. This place is dotted with ancient temples and stupas – approx. 10.000 all togehter. Enough to keep you busy for weeks. You can either travel by plain, road or boat. We chose the boat. A very relaxing trip sitting on deck watching life along river. The photo shows the arrival in Bagan. Mandalay is indeed a big city in Myanmar. My friend, a fellow Filipino, is there for many years already.
