The scenes at Mumbai Airport
On Friday I travelled from Mumbai to Muscat and with the festival times going on in the city, there was some very pretty decor at the Airport. Though I was leaving the Country and not feeling very good, but the brightness of this place did give some spark to my mood. It was a nice feeling seeing so much of color and lights through out the Airport.
Right from the entrance till the security gate the airport was decorated. After the security there was not much. Since the past few days I have shared a couple of Diwali celebrations pictures across the city, from which you will understand how important this festival is for us Indians and it holds so much of significance for us.
Every entrance gate of the airport had the Diwali greetings. I travelled in the morning and it was looking so attractive, I am sure at night with the lights it must be looking very pretty.
Near the check-in space, there was this big chandelier type show piece. It was an eye catcher, looked extremely wonderful and there were different light effects.
Every pillar at the check-in counters were decorated with lights
There were some beautiful Rangolis done on the floor
Some of the Rangolis like this one carried strong messages which are relevant for our country.
At the Airport there is a Isha store opened up. It is not very new, it has been some time.
A photo point for travellers
Bidding good-bye to Mumbai

Really nice and colorful decoration. It really honors Duwali.
I can imagine the sadness of having to leave, although there will always be a way to come back.
Did you know that in Colombia they have something similar, it´s called La noche de las velitas and although it doesn't have the same meaning, it is just as colorful.
I did not know about that, thank you for sharing. I guess every place has these type of festivals to celebrate, like next month is Christmas which is so important for the western world.
I've never been to India but the airport looks really nice. The ceiling especially. Beautiful chandelier-type decorations. First time I read about Rangolis; it looks like a mosaic of Mandalas.
You are right, they are like Mandala designs, it is done in many ways, geometrical patterns or free art whatever you can with your imagination.
Glad the decor was able to lift your mood. Happy Diwali
