๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ๐ŸŒปSublime Sunday๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’– by @c0ff33a - Celebrations with friends and family

On 15th Aug was the Zoroastrian New Year and I am a Zoroastrian. We always celebrate this day in a very special way. We are a very small community worldwide with a total of less then 100K all over. So one can understand how much minority we are in. Yet, we believing in preserving all our culture and traditions and make it a point to show casing them to the world. Our religion do not have a conversion system and hence as years go by our numbers are getting lesser and lesser. In India more then Zoroastrians we are known as Parsees.

I flew down on 15th from Mumbai to be with hubby here in Muscat to celebrate our New Year, I do not like that he spends this special day alone. Here in Muscat we have a small number of our community people and on such occasions we come together and celebrate. For this day Radisson hotel was booked for our evening gathering. We wanted our special menu with Parsee cuisine but sadly the chef did not agree to it and we had to go ahead with the menu suggested by them, which was decent, except for the appetizers which were not appreciated by almost all of us.

It was a fun filled evening, we had games for children, there was a DJ and dancing and most important was that we all met up to celebrate this day together.

The hall is big enough to accommodate around 100 people, we were only 40 of us so there was lot of extra room for us.

There were gifts for almost everyone and those who won the games were also given some special prizes.
