Mocha - Basically just glorified Milo!

Mocha is basically just glorified Milo. There, I said it. Sue me. I don’t regret saying it one bit and I am not taking it back no matter who I offend. "It is what it is! And what it is, is Shit!"

I specifically asked to not make it sweet, and they exclusively confirmed they don't make anything sweet. And yet, right after the first sip I told my wife this is "Borderline Sharbat!" (Yes, those exact words)!

Sharbat : A sugary drink...could be made of anything.

Coffee is supposed to be bitter, it has to have that strength, that powerful kick. And mocha just doesn't have it. It almost felt like I was having a kids' drink.

I can't really give Crimson Cup a bad rating, or a rating of any sorts just by trying out their Mocha. I have to re visit and try out at least one of their latte or cappuccino. I quite liked the ambiance, although it was quite crowded. And that speaks volumes as to why it had such high ratings. I just ordered the wrong drink!

But I don't really regret missing out on a latte or a cappuccino. The whole idea was to try out something new at a new shop. And since I consider myself a coffee fanatic I think I should be able to get into any coffee conversation regardless which type of drink the subject is!

I have never had Mocha before, so in a conversation where people are talking about Mocha, I could only be a silent reader! Now I can chip in and tell them how bad their favourite drink is 😂

Fun times ahead eh!

When it comes to coffee I am very one dimensional (sort of) in the sense that there are a very few drinks I actually approve of - Latte, Cappuccino or an Americano (hot or iced both are fine).

I don't really fancy all those fancy versions - you know...the frappuccinos, the black mochas, the white mochas, stuff with a 5 feet long layer of whipped cream on top etc! But I do not rule out trying them at some point. There is no reason for me to hate them unless I have actually tried them and disliked them. And as I said I also wanna be able to pitch in on discussions about the different varieties and there is no way to hoard that knowledge without first hand experience.

I think I will go back to Crimson Cup Coffee again sooner or later to try out their "proper" coffee options. It had great reviews, but also because the street food carts outside the shop are just fantabulous!

The pizza and the momos were both top notch, at a very very reasonable price too! I quite enjoy having a light snack before having a nice cup of coffee - be it spicy or savory desserts!

I guess this goes with TCSP Week 31!
