Assemble All Ye Coffee Lovers....

Right off the bat, I’ll say that I’ve never been to a cocktail party before. I mean, have I been to parties? Yeah, I think I’ve been to a few. But not a cocktail party but a gathering where different cocktails are served has got to be a party so I’m going to use that theme in my head to host the perfect cocktail coffee party.

Assemble All Ye Coffee Lovers

Cocktail parties are mostly invitation-only kind of parties so I’ll be sending an invitation to all my coffee-loving friends. I don’t know a lot in person but I’ve gotten more friends in our virtual coffee shop, here on Hive. So they’ll be on the invite list. Even though we’re scattered across the world, I wouldn’t want to send a virtual invitation so for the sake of this thought process, let’s just assume we’re all in the same city. So I’ll be sending actual invitation cards with graphic designs of coffee beans and steaming cups of coffee on the card just so they know what to expect.

The Perfect Sphere

I’ve come to realize that a lot of us here in our virtual coffee shop have different preferences when it comes to the atmosphere of our ideal coffee shop. Some like bright, sunny areas while others love darker, cozier venues. So, I’ll try to incorporate that when I’m setting it up. There would be coffee tables on the balcony and also comfy sofas set up inside so everyone is comfortable.

Barrrrrrr!

A cocktail party is never complete without a choice bar and so would our coffee party be. There would be a stylish coffee bar with an equally stylish and dexterous barista behind it. He or she would dazzle the guests with latte art and brewing techniques. Several espresso machines and French presses would be available. And also featured in our coffee bar, would be a stock of various quality coffee beans from different regions that would suit the exotic palettes of my guests. Oh, and lest I forget, based on my recent experience, there would also be an avenue to whip up your own coffee.

There would be a milk section with different options, ranging from regular to soy milk, oat milk, almond, whipped cream and other alternatives. My guests need to have every single coffee whim of theirs met and hopefully, that would add flair to the whole event.

All You Can Eat

And what’s a coffee party without treats? There would be an all-you-can-eat treat in gourmet form where my guests would be able to select treats to eat with their coffee if they so desire. They would be doughnuts, biscuits, croissants, coffee cakes and any other delectable treat that comes to mind. The aim is to ensure that my guests live with a full tummy, even if it’s only with coffee treats.😆

Gamezzzz

There would be different coffee-themed games like latte art competitions where the guests can design their lattes to their hearts' content and we collectively pick out the best coffee, and also mug sessions where they could paint whatever they’d like on their mugs. Or maybe regular games like cards and board games and any other thing my guests would want, over their preferred cups of coffee. I figure it should be a lot of fun since several people would have different game choices. Games foster deep connections or maybe not deep, but a sense of camaraderie in the moment. There would be lo-fi playing softly in the background. I don’t reckon that they would want a live band or anything. I should think that would defeat the whole coffee-subtlety purpose.

Coffee Tasting and After-party Delights

One of the events would feature coffee tasting where the guests get to learn about and sample different coffee beans. I would discretely take note of the ones each of them likes. This information would constitute the final plan which is to send them home with small bags of gourmet coffee beans and the coffee mugs they designed when the party is over.

I'm not sure if I'm the ideal host but my head is buzzing with the endless possibilities of how the event would go but I’m sure it would be a memorable time together with like-minded people who share a similar love for coffee. Hopefully, I'll recreate this someday.☕
