Coffee at The Landing Pad Café

This morning we visited a local charity shop, "The Hanger" that sells second hand clothes, furniture, and many other items to raise money for the local Air Ambulance Service.

Inside the shop, there is also a nice little café aptly named "the Landing Pad Café". After looking around the charity shop, we enjoyed a welcome sit down in the café. It was early morning, so we had the café to ourselves.

I ordered a black Americano, but when I'm with this particular friend, I let her order her own drink, as it's like a shopping list, ie a single shot cappuccino, piping hot, no chocolate sprinkles, oat milk, and occasionally in a takeaway cup to keep it hot .... the list goes on! I can never remember all of that!

If you have any old teapots at home you can donate them so they can use them in the café. Being a coffee drinker, unfortunately, I don’t own a teapot.

There was a really good selection of cakes that looked home made. Although, they all looked very inviting, at about £3.00 + a slice, I'd expect a whole cake for that, so neither of us decided to order anything.

On one wall, there's a memory board where people can leave a personal message for those who are no longer with us.

On another wall, there are pages that have been given to children to colour in. I like it when children don't bother to keep within the lines.

The café has a very calm ambience whether they are busy or not. The café workers were very quick in sorting out our order. All the staff are volunteers and are always very friendly. They are always willing to help. The only regret I had was not having a slice of cake! Oh, hum ...
