“A Taste of Home: My Pinoy Breakfast Sinangag, CornBeef and Eggs Paired with Oldtown Coffee!”
Hello, all coffee lovers, yesterday evening we came home from the hospital because my son was supposed to have an operation, but it was canceled at the last minute because he suddenly started coughing. The anaesthesiologist doesn't want to take the risk, which I understand, but it was a tough day. from Wednesday, we had already checked in at the hospital, we stayed overnight, then the next day was supposed to be the operation. I didn’t have a proper sleep at the hospital, and I was exhausted from all the stress and worry. So today, when I woke up, my husband was already at work. But he had left me a sweet message: the Filipino corned beef he ordered online for me had arrived. That made me smile. I've been craving it for how many days, and the timing was just perfect. I just wanted a comforting breakfast, something that reminded me of home.

When the package came into the lobby, my daughter went down and took it. I went to the kitchen and started cooking a simple Filipino-style breakfast. I made garlic fried rice, eggs, and the corned beef. The smell is like I'm home, so good while cooking, brought me back memories of my childhood mornings in the Philippines, those cozy times with family, eating together before the day started. While cooking, I also made myself a cup of Oldtown White Coffee. I had just bought it and wanted to try this flavor for the first time. It was really good! It has a bitter taste of coffee, also creamy, but not too sweet. And this can be my treat, especially when no budget for a coffee shop. The one pack has 15 sachets and only costs $4, way cheaper than paying $2.50 for just one cup at a café.
While having my breakfast, I felt something I hadn't felt in a while. After a rough night and days full of worry, this quiet moment at the table gave me a small sense of relief. Today breakfast and coffee is amazing and they help me to overcome all things happening, even just for a while. Being a mom means I’m always thinking about everything, especially for my son's operation. And I almost forgot to take care of myself. But today, with the hot coffee and the Pinoy brand cornbeef for breakfast, I finally gave myself a little break. I felt like I was home, even just for a short time.
Just a cup of coffee and breakfast, and it makes me breathe. This simple routine is the things that mean the most. Life is uneasy, and sometimes our plans don’t always go our way. But this small moment, like my thoughtful husband ordering online my craving, and the instant coffee OldTown, can make a difference. And also remind me that even in the worst situation of stress and disappointment, there is still comfort, love, care, and hope. Until now, I can't imagine if I don’t have coffee to comfort myself for all this hard time, I'm still thankful that I have something to look forward to after all the difficulties. Anyway, looking forward to every small and simple thing around us, it will make us easier the hardship. This is my way to comfort myself, a simple coffee and a simple food to heal my inner pain. To those who have a hard time like me, I'm sharing this not just a coffee, and for the food that I've been craving. I share this story to give inspiration as well, that we don’t need a fancy thing to overcome some hardship in life, to be comforted. We have to find our way to be ok and come back to reality. Always find the simple way to comfort ourselves, and your inner pain will be healed. Don’t count what others have, count what our own.
I hope your son's operation goes well. Much strength to you, you can handle anything during this process. Coffee always helps to connect and understand yourself.
