Cracking the Hive Code: What’s Stopping Newcomers?

Over the years, the concept of blockchain technology has grown rapidly and so many people have already made sure to not be left behind. Today, the concept of blockchain has been adopted all over the word and so many individuals have benefited from it.

Ideally, hive blockchain is the home for everyone. But I guess we find our self in a not so ideal world. My journey on the hive blockchain so far has been one where f constant growth and accomplishment and from my experiences so far, I have come to understand the various challenges that come with trying to onboard someone to be a part of this blockchain.

For me, it took over a year of convincing before I agreed to give the whole idea of blockchain a try. This was because I didn’t know anything about crypto and I had already heard so many stuff about crypto being a scam and all. I was shown evidence but I still didn’t believe until I finally decided to take the risk. This right here is the first challenge onboarders encounter.

Next, after signing up and all, I didn’t know what to do. But thanks to my onboarder, I was able to find my way around the blockchain. Being a newbie to something can be frustrating at times and once you don’t have someone who actually take time you guide you through, you would just end up giving up. I’d say another challenge with onboarding people on hive is time. Because as an onboarder, you need to have time to guide newbies through every step for the first few months until they find their feet. And not all onboarders are able to pull through this phase.

The next big challenge happens to be inconsistency on the side of the newbie and this is where thing mostly cal apart. Once the the second challenge which is the onboarder not getting enough time sets in coupled with the fact that the newbie isn’t consistent and curious , both parties tend to relax and on most cases, you find onboarder trying to help newbies but these newbies just don’t want to be rushed.

For me, I’d say the above are the 3 main challenges most people encounter when onboarding someone to Hive. Once you’re able to cross these three stages, the rest is just a life of cake. It’s more the like the light at the end of the tunnel.

I agreed with you that lack of consistency newbies feel difficult but if they start to give attention they start to learn and settle on hive

That’s very true. It takes time and patience.

Yea that time factor is actually quite a prevailing one and it's more helpful if there was a kind of tutorial or manual you can refer them to.
