LOVE ONLINE

There was one time I had a long distance relationship, and the only means of communication was digitally. Then my partner and I found ourselves communicating for almost the entire day. We were always on Video calls not because we were less busy but because we wanted to be involved in eachothers lives as much as possible. I remember being in a meeting while chatting back to back with my partner and giving her the full gist of how the meeting and my day was going. Nobody in that meeting knew what I was doing because I was on my PC and they probably felt I had an important Job to close out. Well, I did have something I was also working on.

To be honest Online relationships can be tasking. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and must call her even when I wake up late because I spent some part of my bedtime talking to her. Sometimes I had promised her a good morning text and must spend some minutes of my rush hour composing one. A lot of times I had gotten to work late and even received queries because of these things but I really didn’t care. Sometimes my work life is affected by my online digital life but then again both her important to me and I must find ways to balance them.

There were other times we would chat in two different messaging apps at the same time because we were having different discussions that just couldn’t wait lol. I still think back and imagine how we actually did it. It’s different when you are chatting with two different people on two different messaging apps. For one you must reply to them twice and failing to do so might lead to guilt tripping of how much you ain’t paying attention lol. Digital love life isn’t for the weak, and unless you’re ready to put in the work, don’t go for it.
