FungiFriday ~ 🍄 let’s have some lunch 😉 mushrooms anybody? 😁🍄

Hi all 👋🏻

I found some more mushrooms recently on a walk and somebody had nice lunch out… 😉 I couldn’t just pass by and not #photograph this #scene 🎬
Even observe it closely.

So… today I want to share with you what I saw on a recent walk in the Brabazon Woods of Swinford in County MAYO Ireland 🇮🇪 🍄

The following 13 photos are taken with my phone 😎 on 14 August 2023

Let’s have a look at what I saw :

Some delicious mushrooms… towering high above the vegetation and dried fallen leaves 🍂

And on top… A SLUG 🐌

Have a look at the scene from a different angle 😎

The slug 🐌 was right on top of the mushroom 🍄

Zooming out for you, looking up.

The whole scene… look how many mushrooms are nibbled on already. 😳

I like how they are grown and made layers of mushrooms 🍄 against the tree 🌳 trunk.

Shall we have a closer look at the slug and its meal 🐌 🍽️

It isn’t scared of us and continues to munch away… 😋

Nom nom…

We see it nibble a bit more… it looks yummy 🤤

Maybe it has been hungry.

So cool to observe.

Shall we let it finish eating?

Yes… we should. I am sure you would mind somebody being right up your face while eating your lunch… hehehe 🤭

apparently these mushrooms were very exquisite, that not even the slug could avoid taking a bite
These photographs are surprising, seeing the slug in full action due to the fungus is incredible. Excellent photos, thank you very much for sharing with us.

Hahaha I knew this question would come, nope I didn’t touch this one.
I did touch a slug last year in Massachusetts in the forest, it was crawling up a dried mushroom. And for composition purposes I put it on top 😋 hahaha my fingers got all orange guwy stuff over it !LOL
Took a while to clean it off on the stream next to it. So I don’t touch them now 🤣😂
Will share those captures one day, have to get those photos off my camera and edit a bit. 😎

It is a snail but without a house… they are called slugs. Much larger bodies too.

I like snails 🐌 more. As they look cuter with their little houses 😉 hehehe 🤭

I like snails as well I saw them in Lagos two weeks ago. It's been ages since I had them. Over 20 years maybe.

Cool you saw them there. I know we talked about eating snails a few times. Especially when I visited Paris and had them for the first time 😉 and posted about it.
I meant ‘I like them’ more like… like the creature for what it is. Hehehe 🤭 snails are cute… beautiful to observe.

Lol, I have not looked at the cute side of them, I have been focused more on them feeding my hunger or taste for them.

Okay, I will stick to Snails then, I wonder when next I will have Snails. I should probably have asked my sisters to make it for me but I never saw them make it, it was my mom that used to make it in her restaurant and I used to steal them even after she has given me.

Funny that. I’ve had some stomach bug for more than a week now and feeling mainly brain foggy and weird too, although I seem to be getting back on my feet today. The September heatwave didn’t help either!

Maybe something that’s going around…
My brain is foggy too but that’s hormonal hehehe 🤭 I seem to be doing weird stuff this last month, like putting something in the fridge that doesn’t belong there… or waiting for a pan to get warm to cook and I haven’t switch the stove on… ach well… must be all part of the changes !LOL
I can imagine, here we didn’t have such hot weather… missed summer this year, although it looks like that.

Oh, I can relate to doing weird things. They happen to me all the time, but more so when I feel stressed and/or processing a lot in my head. I find I’m so focused on my thoughts, that everything else is on autopilot and weird shit happens. Or on my phone doing 10 things at the time 😉

The weather is lovely again this weekend. I’m outside most of the day in my shorts and vest 😁

That’s good to hear that you managed to catch a few rain-less moments for a walk.
Insomnia… hmm 🤔 Not sure which one I’d prefer. Probably both are no good, but when I’m feeling low, sleep is my go-to to avoid reality 😉 I’d probably like a nice and healthy 7-8h and no more or no less every night 😁

On that note, if I go to sleep now, my wish might just be granted 😍💙

I think both are not so good.
Let’s hope I can rest my body this week a bit. Our visitors just left.
Now cleaning house and washing bedding… Friday I hop on a flight again. So busy weeks to come still.

Ha those darn slugs always getting to the fungi before me. You can kind of see their little nubby teeth if you look closely while they munch on the mushrooms.
