FungiFriday ~ fancy some pancakes 🥞 or are they mushrooms 🍄‍🟫

Hi all 👋🏻 😊

Just look at these 2 mushrooms…. They so look like #pancakes 🥞 from the top. Don’t you think?
I found them last Saturday behind the cabin in our forest 🌳 and wanted to share them with you today.

The 9 photos are taken with my phone 😎 on 3 August 2024.

Let’s have a closer look at them :

They are rather large in diameter. I think if I spread out my hand you get one of them.

It is so funny 😆 to look at them from the top. When I cook pancakes : *this is exactly what I see after I flip them one time in the frying pan 🍳
The whole markings…. Never seen these mushrooms before.

Capture from a different angle. Some #decaying #wood 🪵 next to them.

A bit closer by so you can see the gills and their stems.

The light is shining through the top…

Just above these “pancake lookalikes” there is this cute mushroom 🍄‍🟫

It is hiding between the moss and other plants. I did see you 😎 little mushroom. Don’t be #shy 🙈

They resemble a lactarius species. I bet the pancake ones dried out got a bit too humid then got waterlogged again to make them look like that, and the smaller one probably hatched later so it looks more normal.

Could well be. Didn’t really think about it. Thought they are like this.
I did a search on the photos but they show some half 🌙 mushrooms that like like this but no whole heads.
I could check the little one and see how it looks like this weekend.
We didn’t had a dry spell here yet. A lot of rain the last 2 month.
