FungiFriday ~ Bright RED Mushroom 🍄

Hi all 👋🏻 😊

While wandering in the mountains during a long hike in august this year, climbing rocks… crossing streams… searching for paths, I found this #BRIGHT #RED MUSHROOM 🍄
It stood out sooooo much. I don’t think I ever saw such a bright red coloured mushroom.

The mushroom photos are taken with my phone 😎 on 17 August 2024 during a long hike in the mountains ⛰️

Let’s have a closer look at this RED mushroom now.

It was standing on the bottom of a very steep rock-side, between pine needles and low #vegetation of the mountainous area. I definitely wasn't expecting to find a mushroom here. Luckily I did and can show you today 😊

It’s very young, the cap and stem very fresh, shiny and new.

I capture this cute mushroom from every angle to show its beauty.

Have you ever seen such a bright red mushroom?

I capture its gills / underside and see a tiny little insect 🦟
Maybe it is hiding for me hahaha 🤣

Nice picture of "the sickener" aka Russula emetica. They look amazing but aren't edible as you guessed from the common name. There is a green version of it called Russula virescens that is a great edible that can be eaten without cooking.

It's like it's straight out of a fairytale! I keep looking for the pixies in your photos! I'm not sure if that's an edible mushroom, but it sure is magnificently beautiful!
