FungiFriday - Two different forests

puffball mushroom pl 6.jpg

The mushrooms picking walks tend to get me to go to few different forest. Even though they are somehow connected, sliced into piece by roads I would consider them different.
You know... one is on the left side of my home and the other far on the right. It counts as different yes? :)

I didn't find many of the puffballs, unlike other mushrooms that took over the woods at that time. Plus they are not the easiest ones to shoot. They all look like round balls.

The first ones were right next to the path at the edge of the woods. I was already on the way home with hands full of trophies and card full of photos when I spotted something white.

Hello boys :D

This part of the woods is just so damn nice. Lots of paths among tall trees that lead towards clearer forests with small hills and narrower paths created by cyclers.

The other woods I know better and I was walking outside paths looking for the shooting objects. I spotted few while I was photographing pretty, large amanitas.

More brown and with prettier texture. I don't know and I will not try to guess if it is different variet, or they can vary based on where they grow. This forest is older with more dead matter in the soil. The first ones grow in a very sandy area.

As a bonus I asked AI to show me "white round mushrooms at the edge of the green forest" :)

Just like the ones I found, right? :D

Excellent photos of these interesting species.... If I saw them in a forest, I would think they are some kind of fruit!... I don't think I have seen any mushrooms similar to these here!... Thanks for sharing! :/

The brown textured mushroom is quite beautiful. However they all are.
I agree with you if the forest is separated then it is different. :-)

Great photos as always.

Those puffballs bring back memories of my childhood! They would grow at the edge of the lawn, and when conditions were right they could quickly become the size of a volleyball... pure white and smooth on the outside.

Not much in the way of fungi here at the moment, it's too dry. Unless we count the mushroom risotto that's my dinner...

My post has disappeared and I haven’t saved the draft 🙈 How is this possible? Have you ever experienced such thing?

Nodes chochliki 😂😂😂 You do make me laugh 😂

I did try the white version once or twice, but they barely have any taste at all. I guess it’s still good to add to stews or soups for extra nutrition, but taste wise they’re nothing like kurki or prawdziwki 😁

Back on my Elementary School years, there would be alot of these puffballs growing on the grass.

During recess we would gather as much as we can and hurl it towards each other. Because it has the perfect throwing size and doesn't hurt much on impact.

We have a rule to only pick the smol fresh ones. Because the Big juicy ones are filled with this disgusting thing inside and that's considered a DICK MOVE.

Grrrrrrrrrr when were these photo's taken.

Ohh we would step on the big mature ones to see the smoke coming out.

when were these photo's taken.

Probably like last century :P
